Arrest warrants have been issued for two suspects that sheriff’s officials say broke into a vehicle in the parking lot of a Whitley County Church.

Using tips provided by the public, Deputy James Fox and Detective John Hill have identified two suspects in the January 17, 2016 theft.

Arrest warrants have been issued for 35-year-old Joshua C. Buchanan and 35-year-old William P. North. Both men have warrants for their arrests that are unrelated to this investigation. Buchanan and North were last known to reside in Pineville, Kentucky and may be driving a dark blue, 2000 model Chevrolet minivan.

The theft occurred in the parking lot of Goldbug Baptist Church. The crime, which occurred during Sunday morning services, was captured by surveillance cameras.

Two Lexington men are facing assault charges.

While not many details are being released, documents say 31-year-old Ryan “Spoon”  Adams and 21-year-old Austin “Pink Floyd” Dillon are accused in an assault from almost a week ago.

They were arrested Wednesday and now each face a first degree assault charge.

A Shelby man has been charged with sexual abuse of a child younger than 12.

Roberto Ramos Mata, 54, who lists an address off Shelby County 47 in Shelby, was arrested on Jan. 25 and has been released from the Shelby County Jail since posting a $25,000 bond, with the condition that he is to have no contact with the victim.

According to court documents, Mata allegedly intentionally subjected a child younger than 12 to sexual contact between Sept. 2, 2014 and Sept. 2, 2015.

Sexual abuse of a child younger than 12 is a Class B felony. If convicted, Mata could face up to 20 years in prison.

New Braunfels Police are asking the public for help finding a missing woman.  They sent FOX 7 the following statement.

44-year old Tracy M. Black of New Braunfels went missing around 11:15am on January 22nd, 2016, after she
attended a job interview in San Antonio. No foul play is suspected in her disappearance, and she is not
suspected of any criminal activity, however, family members are hoping to make contact with her to confirm
her safety.

Black is described as a white female, approximately 5-foot- 6-inches tall, with brown eyes and brown
shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing black pants, a white silk shirt, a black sweater, black jacket,
and black shoes.

She is believed to be driving a white 2015 Subaru Crosstrek with Texas License Plate FRT-
9484.

Investigators believe she may still be in the Comal County or Bexar County area.

The Blacksburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help in its search for what it has deemed a “missing/endangered” child.

A homicide investigation is under way in Hardin County after a man was found dead in a home early Wednesday morning.

According to WAVE 3 News, police were called to a house on Westport Road just after midnight Monday

The victim’s name was Windell Jones,

On Monday, KSP responded to a robbery complaint on Beaver Dam Road in the Colson community.

They say two subjects in a small, red, 4-door passenger car pulled into a residential driveway where an elderly woman was exiting her vehicle.

A white male approached the woman and asked to use her phone, that is when he grabbed her purse before fleeing in the car.

That same day, police in Whitesburg responded to a call of a subject approaching a woman in the Rite Aid parking lot and attempting to take her wallet.

The subject is described as a white male wearing a camouflage jacket. He was driving a small, red, 4-door passenger car that matched the description of the car from the incident in Colson.

A Frankfort man was arrested for kidnapping a 12-year-old girl from her Louisville Middle School Tuesday.

Police say Charles Smith, 21, and the victim made plans on social media to meet near the grounds of Shelby East Middle School.

After getting into Smith’s car, the girl’s cell phone began to ring and that’s when Smith made the decision to stop the car and let her out.

The girl was found by local law enforcement and returned to the school.

Smith was arrested soon after returning to Frankfort.

Lexington Police and Fire were called to an elementary school after staff members found a suspicious package on their campus.

Staff from Tates Creek Elementary School found an unidentified package on their campus this morning. According to a spokesperson with the Fayette County Board of Education, staff followed emergency protocols, contacted law enforcement and evacuating their students to the Tates Creek Middle School gymnasium.

The Lexington Police Department and Fire Department responded. For safety reasons, the police blocked off access to the Tates Creek campus, so no vehicles could enter or leave.

Police determined there was no threat and students and staff were able to return to their classrooms to resume learning

Two people have been arrested for the alleged kidnapping and ransom of an adult male in Louisville.

According to WAVE 3 News, Jasamane Wathal and Steffon Garcia were charged in connection to a kidnapping on Monday. Louisville Metro Police told our sister station that the victim’s family notified officers about the situation around 6 a.m. After hours of surveillance, investigators were able to find the missing man being held in the trunk of a car parked behind a vacant house in the 400 block of North 39th Street. His hands were bound, and he had several lacerations on his body. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released.

The victim had been abducted from the Royal Garden Apartments. A large sum of money was then demanded from his family, which they supplied.

The suspects concealed their identities while in the presence of the victim, police said.

Wathal was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon. Garcia and Wathal are both charged with kidnapping. Garcia appeared in court Tuesday morning where he pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $75,000.
