Private Detective: Man Sent to Hospital After Appian Way Shooting

One man was sent to the hospital following an overnight shooting.

An officer noticed a car parked halfway on a curb and half in the road on Appian Way. The driver got out covered in blood, suffering from two gunshot wounds.

Police believe the man was shot nearby and then drove down the road. Another person had been in the car, but fled the scene.

Fraud Investigation Pikeville Man Posed As Military Officer to Solicit Donations

An arrest has been made after the sheriff says a Pike County man pretended to be a military officer to solicit fraudulent donations for a military transition service.

According to East Kentucky Broadcasting, 49-year-old Monroe Jackson, of Frog Town Road, in Pikeville, was arrested over the weekend on a misdemeanor charge of misrepresenting military status.

Pike County Sheriff Rodney Scott said Jackson had been posing as a colonel, while never having achieved that rank and soliciting donations for the Mountain Comprehensive Care Center’s Veterans Transition Center.

http://liarcatchers.com/fraud_investigation.html

With the amount of money collected by Jackson under alleged false pretenses, more severe charges are forthcoming. Scott said that after EKB News reported Friday that Jackson was wanted by his department, the public came forward with information which led to Jackson’s arrest.

Anyone who believes they may have been defrauded out of money by Jackson should contact the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.

Jackson, who was originally ordered held on a $2,000 cash bond, was ordered released from the Pike County Detention Center on his own recognizance Sunday, . He will be in court December 1.

Wrongful Death Suspects Connected to Death of Richmond Officer Appear in Court

The three suspects charged in connection with the murder of Officer Daniel Ellis appeared in court Monday morning.

A fourth subject, charged in connection with the robbery that Ellis was investigating when he was shot also faced a judge.

Accused trigger man, Raleigh Sizemore, is charged with murder and robbery. Law enforcement officers from around the state lined the walls of the courtroom in Madison County where Sizemore’s bond was set at $2.5 million. The suspect appeared via video monitor from LaGrange where he is an inmate.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Sizemore is charged with murder of a police officer, two counts of attempted murder of a police officer, unlawful imprisonment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Richmond Police say Carl Banks was driving the getaway car during last Wednesday’s robbery of a customer at Main Street Gulf. Officials say Raleigh Sizemore tried to take a woman’s purse but she fought back. That’s when police say Sizemore jumped into Banks’ van and drove off.

Ellis and another officer tracked Sizemore to an apartment on Ballard Drive, where he was inside with two others, Gregory Ratliff and Rita Creech. Sizemore had said he was determined not to return to prison, according to a police report.

Police say Sizemore shot Ellis as soon as he began to cross the threshold of the bedroom door. The second officer returned fire and struck Sizemore, who was treated at the hospital and handed over to police.

Ratliff is charged with complicity and Creech is charged with robbery.

Ratliff, Creech and Banks are being held in the Madison County Detention Center. Sizemore is being held at LaGrange due to a parole violation
