Months after a woman was sentenced for her role in a decade-old Clark County bank robbery, her alleged accomplice is now in jail.

Nearly thirteen years ago, in December 2002, Police say Case and Samantha Rice robbed a Community Trust Bank in Winchester. Officers say Case showed a gun, then stuffed the stolen money into Rice’s purse.

John Case, 67, was indicted on that robbery charge about a year ago. Earlier this week, Winchester Police say he was finally arrested in Florida. The arrest was made Monday afternoon in Marion County, Florida.

Samantha Rice was arrested in August of 2014 in Powell County and pleaded guilty. She was sentenced to ten years for the robbery and in July was denied shock probation.

Captain James Hall with the Winchester Police Department calls Case’s arrest a victory.

John Case is being held in the Marion County Florida Jail. Authorities have not said when he will be brought back to Kentucky.

A Hardin County man has answered to murder charges in the death of his four month old son.

The News Enterprise reports that Daniel Cox entered a not guilty plea to killing Jaceon Chrystie.

Court records show witnesses called 911 after seeing a man repeatedly hitting a child in a car seat while driving along a highway.

The little boy was taken off life support in early August.

The judge denied a bond reduction for Cox.

Frankfort Police are currently investigating the overnight theft of a department issued Captain’s badge and Glock 27 handgun.

The items were stolen from a locked unmarked Frankfort Police Department vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the officer’s residence in Frankfort.

Authorities are warning the public that if anyone approaches you with just a badge, identifying him or herself as a law enforcement officer, ask to see their departmental photo identification card. Any legitimate officer should be able to show you this information.

A Lawrence man is accused of helping his father dump the body of his step mother at Fort Harrison State Park.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against Robert Wayne Moore, 39, and his father Robert Moore, 67, in connection to the murder of Tina Moore.

Police now said a man walking his dog discovered Moore’s body at Fort Harrison State Park last week.

12 pages of court documents revealed Moore, 55, and her husband Robert have not been getting along.

Her husband of almost two decades told detectives they have had a rocky relationship ever since his son’s family moved in.

Robert Moore has been sitting in jail after he confessed to murder and now his son, Robert Wayne Moore, is charged with obstruction of justice for helping him with the crime.

Robert Moore told detectives his son help to move his wife’s body.

According to detectives in court documents, “Robert stated that he drove to location where they dumped the body. Robert stated when they parked in the curb on Boy Scout Road, he and Wayne both got out of the vehicle, opened the passenger side back door, and she fell out. Robert stated he started carrying Tina back in the woods and lost his grip and dropped her. Robert stated Wayne took her the rest of the way and he didn’t know exactly where she wound up.”

Police said Robert Moore was brought in for questioning about a body found after filing a missing person’s report.

Detectives said, “While in the interview room alone, Robert L. Moore was heard saying, “Don’t be dead, please don’t be dead” multiple times.”

Two days later, detectives said Robert Moore returned to the police station with his pastor and told them, “I am the one that did that to her.”

Court documents stated that Robert Moore and his wife got into an argument about Robert Wayne moving out.

Robert Moore told detectives the argument turned physical.

“I remember having a hold of her on the bed on the side of the bed she sleeps on. I had her by the neck with my left hand,” said Robert Moore in court documents.

He went on, “I was still dazed. My son came in. He helped my move her. We carried her out of the bedroom and out the front door.”

While the investigation continues, those who knew Tina Moore at American Legion Post 495 held a private prayer vigil Monday night to remember their close friend.

“She has a very big heart, had a very big heart,” said finance director Pamela Lovejoy, American Legion Post 495. “She’s up there watching over all of us. She’s going to watch out for all of us in this post.”

Around 80 people attended the vigil with many wearing Tina’s favorite color purple to honor her memory.

“She supported the legion by working breakfast on Saturday morning. She became one of my bartenders about a year and half ago,” said Lovejoy. “One of the best gals I ever had working for me here and she was just a great person, would do anything for anybody.”

Post 495 Women’s Auxiliary is hoping to raise money in honor of Tina Moore. The group is asking for any donations to be made out to a domestic violence program.

Robert Moore is scheduled for an initial hearing on Thursday.

Kentucky State Police have received several complaints in the past week from people advising that there have been scam phone calls from someone stating that they are with the IRS.

The phone calls are usually made from a 917 area code. The caller will state that a debt is owed and if they are not paid, legal action will be taken against them.
