Private Detective: Harrison County Deputies Warn of Police Impersonators Involved in Robbery

Harrison County Deputies are warning people to watch out for two black men who are impersonating police officers. They said the duo went as far as pulling a car over on Hwy 62 between Leesburg and Cynthiana, then robbing the driver at gunpoint .

Linda and Frank king have lived peacefully off Hwy 62 for years. However, now they’re nervous.

“It’s scary, it’s very scary and very concerning to us as homeowners living in this area,” said Linda. The couple said a few weeks ago they were burglarized. That’s when they started to notice a black Charger lurking in the area.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“Black windows, you couldn’t see in it. It looked like a car on Blue Bloods,” said Linda.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department said two men in a similar black Charger, committed a disturbing crime.

“We have had our fair share of people impersonating police officers, but nothing that consisted of an armed robbery,” said Deputy Richard Hutchinson, with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

On Sunday, that all changed. At around 5:30 p.m. Deputies said two men pretending to be police officers in a black Charger, started flashing red and blue lights behind a driver.

“He pulled over, thought he was doing the right thing,” said Hutchinson.

Deputies said only one of the men got out of the vehicle and approached the victim. He was wearing some sort of a navy blue uniform, but it was unclear if he had any badges. As the victim reached for his driver’s license and registration, he was met with a terrifying surprise.

“He noticed a muzzle of a hand gun in his face. The guy ordered him to put his hands on the wheel, and then ordered him to give him his wallet,” said Hutchinson.

The man took around $280 dollars from the victim, and then forced the victim to drive away as the duo followed. Eventually the victim saw the men turn onto Russel Cave Road, and drive off.

Investigators said this is the only incident they have had in Harrison, and surrounding counties. However, they are asking the public to keep a lookout for two black men, driving a black Charger, with red and blue flashing lights on the dashboard.

“You know if a light goes on behind me, my first instinct is to stop. And now knowing what I know, I probably wouldn’t stop,” said Linda.

Investigators said people should be cautious if an unmarked car is attempting to pull them over. In Harrison County, deputies said no law enforcement vehicles are black, although different agencies do have different colored vehicles.

Deputies suggest drivers look for an officer’s uniform and badge, and if they feel something is wrong they should call 911.

“If it doesn’t look right or it doesn’t feel right, then get to a more populated area. And make your stop there,” said Hutchinson.

When it comes to the men committing these crimes, people are confident the real police will prevail.

“They will catch them, just a matter of time,” said Frank.

Missing Person 10 Year Old Jaia Aginsky of Nevada City, CA

The Nevada City Police Department has issued a be-on-the-lookout advisory for a 10-year-old girl who reportedly ran away from her North Pine Street residence Sunday night.

Jaia Aginsky is considered a missing, at-risk juvenile, confirmed Police Chief Tim Foley.

“We have been out searching for her,” he said. “We have notified the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and fliers are being posted.”

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Jaia had been at World Fest earlier Sunday night, but had gone home and went to bed around 8:30 p.m. Her father followed suit around 9:30 p.m., and found her missing when he went to check on her Monday morning.

Jaia took money and possibly some clothing with her, and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a navy blue swim jacket and carrying a grey backpack with purple accents.

She has brown hair and brown eyes, is 4-foot-3 and weighs about 70 pounds.

Jaia does not have a cellphone and does not use a computer, which will make it more difficult to track her, Foley sad.

“She is entranced with San Francisco so she might be heading there,” he said.

Family friend Lorraine Gervais said Jaia’s parents are in an international custody battle, which she believes sparked the girl’s disappearance.

Gervais said there was a possible sighting of Jaia at about 1 a.m. on South Auburn Street in Grass Valley, when a bus driver reported he saw a girl resembling her running down the street. Grass Valley police officers responded but did not locate anyone, Gervais said.

“She’s very bright, very sociable, very charming, very lovable,” she said, adding that she hoped the publicity would help find Jaia.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or the Nevada City Police Department at 530-265-4700.

Jaia Aginsky, 10, has been reported missing from Nevada City.

Missing Person Chelsey Green of Fort Myers Shores, FL

The brother of a missing Fort Myers Shores woman said Sunday that searchers have looked around the state Route 31 bridge and in LaBelle but there has been no contact with her since Friday morning.

Chelsey Green, 25, has not been seen by her family or friends since she left a friend’s home Friday. She is highlighted on a new missing persons web page developed by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office last week,

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Green tried to contact her brother in the early hours of Friday but he did not see the calls until later.

A GPS check of those calls placed them in the area of the state Route 31 bridge.

Her brother, Joshua Green, 28, said searchers checked the bridge area with no success and he was in LaBelle Sunday checking tips that she was there.

“I’m still looking for her right now,” he said. “We’ve all looked all over LaBelle.”

He said she was wearing jean shorts and a camouflage shirt when she was last seen.

Friends were also searching the 31 bridge area and were heading to Arcadia to search on Sunday.

Green is also thought to be driving her white 2003 Dodge Stratus, license plate CPSP55.

Anybody with information is asked to call the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, missing persons unit, 239-477-1056 or 239-477-1234.

The new web site was launched last week in an effort by the sheriff’s office to provide more attention and focus on missing persons cases. The page shows which active cases the LCSO is working on, such as the Green case.

Joshua Green said his sister had never disappeared before and had a job where she rarely missed work over the past four or five years.

“She worked at The Smoke’n Pit BBQ  in North Fort Myers,” he said.

A worker at the restaurant said posters highlighting the missing waitress have been put up.

A Facebook page, Bring Home Chelsey Green, was drawing tips and comments Sunday.

The page administrator posted late Sunday: “If by any chance Chelsey you are reading this or if by god anyone who may be with her reading this page: WE BEG YOU BRING CHELSEY HOME!! She is loved my so many and trust us she will be found!
Chelsey stay strong we are all praying for you.”

Identity Theft Ring Suspects Arrested in Orlando

Orlando police arrested three people in connection with an identity theft ring after an elderly man reported fraudulent charges to his credit card.

The 85-year-old victim reported his card had been used by someone who gave the name Chrystie Hall and used the card to rent a vehicle from Thrifty Car Rental at Orlando International Airport. He said his card had been charged $4,000.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

Investigators confirmed the car had been fraudulently rented, reported it stolen and activated its OnStar, which placed the vehicle in downtown Orlando.

Officers located the vehicle, Xavier Stephens, 27, and Bridgett Bennifield, 38, and transported them to the police department’s airport division.

Stephens and Bennifield had bags with numerous credit card documents in them, according to officials.

The documents appeared to be for reservations for travel and included arrival dates, lengths of stay, hotel information, names of guests, guests’ dates of birth and full credit card numbers with the expiration dates and security numbers.

Stephens was in possession of 1,787 documents and Bennifield was in possession of 68, authorities said.

Bennifield called Channel 9 and said the information that came from Orlando police was incorrect.

“I didn’t have no elderly people social security cards. I didn’t have none of that,” Bennifield said.

Police said the proof is in the multiple stacks of 1,855 personal information found in the hands of Bennifield and Stephens.

Investigators said Stephens and Bennifield told them Hall works at Preferred Guests Resorts and steals reservation documents that are supposed to be shredded, and sells them by the bag for $100 each. Stephens and Bennifield would resell the credit card documents for $50 per page, according to investigators.

The total resale value of the documents Stephens and Bennifield had in their possession was just shy of $93,000. Investigators said they told them they had been doing this since December, but police think it’s been going on for much longer.

“Orlando Police Department takes identity theft seriously and we will vigorously pursue anyone who goes after our residents or tourists,” said Sgt. Rhonda Huckleberry of the investigative unit. “This is a huge mess. A lot of our victims are elderly and from out of state.”

Hall, 37, was picked up and taken to the airport division where she requested a lawyer.

All three suspects, who have criminal histories, were transported to Orange County Jail.

Hall has been charged with trafficking in counterfeit credit cards, unlawful credit card lists, grand theft motor vehicle, conspiracy to grand theft and scheme to defraud.

Stephens has been charged with trafficking in counterfeit credit cards, 50 counts of fraud, unlawful credit card lists, grand theft motor vehicle and scheme to defraud.

Bennifield has been charged with trafficking in counterfeit credit cards, 50 counts of fraud, unlawful credit card lists, grand theft motor vehicle and scheme to defraud.

Police said more charges are pending.

Pedophile Tracking Man Arrested in Sarasota, FL

A 48-year-old man has been charged with sexually abusing three young girls and detectives are concerned there may be more victims.

Driving through the Sarasota neighborhood east of I-75 and Fruitville Road, it’s clear families and kids call it home. Neighbors living along Deer Crossing Court says the streets fill up with kids playing late in the afternoon.

A neighbor’s police car adds a feeling of safety. But deputies say next door lives Mark Wyman, a software engineer who has been charged with sexually battering a 6-year-old girl and with molesting two 12-year-old girls.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

“To imagine doing that to another girl when you have a daughter of your own is extremely sick to me,” says Shawn Harper who lives four houses from Wyman.

Harper says Wyman and his family moved in two years ago and blended right in.

“He seemed like a really nice guy, down-to-earth. Really wouldn’t of guessed,” he says.

According to the arrest report, one of the 12-year-old girls was alarmed with her 6-year-old sister’s behavior. The younger sibling said it’s what Mark does. The 12-year-old reported it to her mother who later called DCF. The 12-year-old told detectives every time she visited Wyman he would touch her inappropriately.

“The victims are all innocent children. None are deserving of anything like this happening to him,” says Lt. Joe Giasone, a detective with the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office.

The alleged abuse of the younger victim included touching and penetration too graphic to describe.

“These things happened while under his supervision,” says Giasone.

One of the victims told Child Protective Services Wyman first inappropriately touched her when she was 7 or 8 years old. She is now 12 years old. Because five years have passed, detectives worry there may be more victims.

“We have information there are possibly other girls visiting the house don’t know their names at this point,” Giasone says.

“It’s just shocking to find someone who preys on those children to be living right here,” says Harper.

Anyone with additional information should contact Criminal Investigations at 861-4900.
