Private Detective: Additional Info on Shooting Victim Found in Lexington Yard

Police are still working to figure out what lead to a man turning up in a Lexington neighborhood with a gunshot wound. The man was found early Sunday morning in a yard on Burnett Avenue, between North Limestone and Bryan Avenue.

A neighbor on Burnett Avenue says he was asleep when all of a sudden he heard somebody yelling. He came out and found a man in the grass with a gunshot wound.

“I wake up and I hear somebody screaming and yelling for help,” said neighbor Santos Quiros.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

It was a rude awakening for Santos Quiros, and a surprise for other neighbors who didn’t expect to wake up and hear about this happening in their neighborhood.

“I’m very shocked. I’m very surprised. Things do happen, but I am totally shocked to hear that someone was found shot right across the street from me,” said neighbor Mary Washington.

Santos says around 6 Sunday morning, he came out and saw 24-year-old Lamont Butler laying in the grass with a gunshot wound to his stomach and called 9-1-1. Police say Butler was dumped out of a dark SUV into the grass on Burnett Avenue.

“He said I hurt my hand and this and that, he was sweating, shaking and I don’t know what happened after that, they take him,” said Santos Quiros.

When police arrived, they say Butler was complaining that he couldn’t breathe. Butler also asked the officer to call his mom,
and the officer held his hand until the ambulance arrived.

“We’ll be praying for him and his family,” said Washington.

Right now, police say they’re not even sure where the shooting may have happened.  They don’t have any suspects in the case yet.
Butler was taken to UK Hospital for surgery. There have been no other updates on his condition.

Drug Dog Sweep TN Woman Gets 3 Years In Bus Stop Drug Bust

A Tennessee woman was sentenced Friday to more than three years in federal prison for a January incident in which DEA agents arrested her in Amarillo on a bus with more than 7 pounds of cocaine.

Andrea Worley, 51, of Memphis, was sentenced Friday in Amarillo’s U.S. District Court on charges of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and aiding and abetting. She was sentenced to serve three years, five months in prison.

http://liarcatchers.com/drugdogsweeps.html

Worley pleaded guilty to the charge earlier this year.

On Jan. 27, federal agents encountered two people traveling on a bus from California and found several bundles of cocaine strapped to their bodies at an Albuquerque, N.M., bus station.

Those unidentified people agreed to cooperate and told federal agents another woman also would be traveling on a bus headed for Amarillo, according to court records.

About 5:30 p.m., DEA agents and local authorities boarded the bus when it arrived in Amarillo, and asked to speak to the woman, who looked nervous and was shaking, a DEA agent’s affidavit said.

As the woman, identified as Worley, started to leave the bus, one of the agents asked her if the tan bag by her feet belonged to her.

Worley said the bag belonged to another woman who left the bus in Albuquerque.

Officers then advised her of her rights, and she signed a written consent for agents to search her belongings, which included a purse.

Agents found nothing in the purse, but a drug dog found two bundles of cocaine in the tan bag.

Worley later told two Potter County deputies that she had placed the bundles in the tan bag after police removed two other people from the bus in Albuquerque.

Worley also admitted to dumping more than a pound of cocaine in the bus toilet, according to the agent’s affidavit.

Worley also admitted she traveled with the other people who were arrested and that they were to receive an unknown amount of money for ferrying the drugs to Memphis.

Federal investigators found more than 4 pounds of cocaine in the tan bag and more than 3 pounds in the toilet, according to a government report.

Pedophile Tracking 16 Arrested in Johnson Co., TX Online Sting

Sixteen men were arrested in a sting operation this week when they drove to Johnson County to meet what they expected to be underage girls.

Some came armed, or with drugs to meet girls they thought were 14 or 15 years old. Suspects range from 21 to 67 years old. They drove from cities all around North Texas.

Arrest affidavits detail online exchanges showing what they wanted. What they got was jail, and a felony arrest.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

“The last thing that hit me when we got home last night is that we arrested 16 people that were going out in our community to rape a child,” said Commander Adam King. He runs the “Stop the Offender Program” in Johnson County.

He coordinated the sting, in which officers pretended to be children online. King says registered sex offender Jonathan Leever responded, as did attorney James Hice. His online profile shows a purple heart and silver star as a Marine.

Cleburne, Burleson and Johnson County officers took part in the online investigations and arrests.

“These guys just started soliciting people they thought were children for sex,” King says. “We weren’t pursuing them. They were pursuing us.”

King, and Cleburne Lieutenant Shane Wickson praise the Texas Attorney General’s office for training and supervision.

“We are better equipped to handle this type of crime from here on out,” said Lieutenant Wickson. “This isn’t a one-shot deal.”

It can’t be, says the head of Johnson County Children’s Advocacy.

“We’re seeing an astronomical increase in what we call the technology facilitated crimes against children,” said Tammy King.

In response, the Children’s Advocacy Center in Johnson County has launched an online program to make it easier for children to reach authorities or advocates. King says about 40 percent of the center’s cases now involve some kind of online contact between perpetrator and victim.

After making so many arrests so quickly, Commander Adam King described the results of the sting as “scary.”

“It’s a wake up call that there are that many of these guys running around,” he said.

Missing Person Nelson County Mom Still Missing

It’s been two weeks since a mother of 5 disappeared in Nelson County. On Saturday, search teams continued their efforts looking for answers as to what happened to Crystal Rogers.

“You don’t know how much it means to us that people have came out and searched, and they are here today. It’s just overwhelming,” said Mike Ballard, Crystal’s uncle.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

More than 100 people from several different states including Florida and Ohio were searching for the Bardstown woman Saturday afternoon.

“Two weeks now we’ve had people daily coming out, tracking through mud and storms,” said Crystal’s great uncle, Sammy Johnson.

The mother of 5 was last seen by her boyfriend on July 3rd. Crystal’s car was later found abandoned on the Bluegrass Parkway with a flat tire.  Her keys, purse and cell phone found inside.

“You hope for the best, expect the worst, but I don’t think there’s anyway you can prepare for probably what’s going to happen,” said Ballard.

All over Nelson County and the surrounding areas, the family says they’ve scoured acres upon acres of farm land, searched the Bluegrass Parkway, and boated through bodies of water.

“Anybody around that has land, farms, you’re by the river, go out. Nobody knows your property like you do, search those properties, help us out,” said Ballard.

As they search Crystal’s family is still holding on to hope.

“And if Crystal is alive and someone did take her, let her go and send her back home to us,” said Crystal.

The reward money raised is up to $71,000. If you have any information, call the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.
