Missing Person Chelsey Green of Fort Myers Shores, FL

A Fort Myers Shores woman disappeared early Friday after leaving a friend’s house, and a cryptic text has her family fearing the worst.

Chelsey Green never made it to her home just blocks away. Her brother received a locator text around 3:30 a.m. The GPS location put Green right near the State Road 31 bridge.

Lee County deputies launched a search for Green, even putting their helicopter into the air. The search lasted about 12 hours as deputies sought Green’s white two-door Dodge Stratus.

Green’s mother, Maggie Green, has just one message for her missing daughter. “If you’re out there, please call me. Please call somebody…no matter what. I don’t care at this point, I just want to hear your voice and never let you out of my sight.”

A deputy said late Friday that he worked with the family and Sprint, which pinged Green’s last known location to a nearby cell phone tower. That means she could have been in the area.

The search comes the same week the sheriff’s office launched a new Facebook page to help find missing persons.

If you have seen Green or her vehicle, call the sheriff’s office at (239) 477-1000.

Missing Person Two Year Old Idaho Boy Still Missing

Idaho authorities are now using sonar as well as divers to search a remote reservoir for missing 2-year-old DeOrr Kunz Jr.  The toddler disappeared last Friday while camping with his family near the Stone Reservoir in Leadore.

Police divers have been methodically searching every square inch of the reservoir for the little boy after cadaver dogs indicated there may be something there. However, Lemhi County Sheriff Lynn Bowerman tells HLN they just learned that someone had been dumping human cremains in the reservoir, and that very well could be the smell the dogs picked up on.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“It’s pretty disappointing. Someone was depositing human cremains up there while we’re searching the area. It contaminates the reservoir and the entire area,” says Bowerman.

“Nevertheless, we have sonar there today and divers still at the reservoir. We are going to side scan and sonar the whole lake. We have people up there on horseback too searching as we speak.”

The boy’s parents, DeOrr Kunz Sr. and Jessica Mitchell, told police they left the toddler with his great-grandfather and a friend of the great-grandfather’s to go exploring, but when they returned less than 15 minutes later, the child was nowhere to be found.  The great-grandfather, in turn, thought DeOrr was with his parents.  It was then that Mitchell called 911 to report her son missing.

While the couple remain up on the mountain waiting for any word of their son, his paternal grandfather, also named DeOrr Kunz, told HLN the family believes little DeOrr may have been kidnapped.

“He had little toy hot wheel trucks in his pocket and nothing fell. They found nothing.  It’s like he vanished without a trace.  He had to have been abducted.  The only good thing about being abducted is it means he’s is still alive,” says Kunz.

Authorities say while nothing has been ruled out, they don’t believe foul play is in involved.

“We are still treating it as a missing person,” says Sheriff Bowerman.

Bowerman says the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children have requested they collect DNA samples from the parents.

“They want that on file so if the child turns up somewhere else they can easily check if there’s a match. It’s standard procedure with all missing children,” Bowman said.

According to police, the parents have agreed and are “cooperating 100%.”  Authorities say they are concerned parents who just want to find their son and have even offered to take lie detector tests.

Bowerman says they will complete their search of the reservoir and re-assess at the end of the weekend where to focus on next. In the meantime, they are following up on all the leads and tips that keep coming in.

DeOrr’s grandfather says he’s heartbroken over his missing grandson.

“They’ve lived with me in my house for the past year and a half and he’s my buddy. When he wants to take a nap he’ll come up to me and say ‘nap papa, nap papa,’ so we’d lay down and take a nap. I’m so attached to him. I don’t know what I’d do if we lost him. I just can’t imagine going day to day without that little boy running around. I’m so sad. I’m just at a loss here.”

DeOrr was last seen wearing cowboy boots, blue pajama pants, and a camouflage jacket.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 208-846-7676.

Wrongful Death Body of 12 Year Old Girl Found in Utah

Police questioned a person of interest Friday in the death of a 12-year-old girl whose body was found in an overgrown horse pasture near her home in suburban Salt Lake City.

The girl left her house sometime around midnight with someone her parents didn’t know after speaking with him at the front door, authorities said.

West Valley City Police aren’t providing details about the person they’re speaking with, who isn’t considered a suspect at this time. “We don’t want the community to think this crisis is over,” Police Chief Lee Russo said.

Police also are serving a search warrant on a home nearby in connection with the case, West Valley City police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku said.

The girl’s body was found after her mother got worried when she didn’t come right home. She told two officers at a nearby convenience store that her daughter was missing at around 1:30 a.m.

Police narrowed the search using the girl’s cellphone signal, honing in on the large, overgrown pasture about four blocks from her home and finding a depression in the grass where investigators think she was killed.

Her body was discovered at about 3 a.m. Police said there was “evidence of trauma” on her body, though authorities declined to specify how she died.

Her name was not immediately released. The family placed a handwritten sign on their house Friday asking for privacy.

Neither the girl nor her family had a history of run-ins with police, she said. A member of the family knew she was leaving, but it’s unclear how much her parents knew.

“This isn’t about parenting,” Russo told reporters during a press conference. “What we are investigating in the death of a 12-year-old girl.”

Private Detective: Multi County Chase Ends After Suspect Pocket Dials Police

Georgetown Police say a man with a gun approached a couple at Oaks Apartment on Post Oak Path. That’s where police say he stole their car and cell phone leading investigators on a multi-county chase.

The couple in the newer model Hyundai were getting ready to go on a trip and told the suspect as much when he pulled a weapon out.  The vehicle owner said the suspect told him, “Hey. I’m going on a trip, too.”

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Unfortunately,  his getaway plan was foiled because police say that the suspect accidentally pocket-dialed 911 on his phone. That’s when Georgetown Police began pinging the cell in an attempt to locate him.  After he hung up,  they say he accidentally redialed 911 and this time the call was picked up by Lexington dispatch.

After the call disconnected, Lexington Police say the suspect abandoned the stolen vehicle in the middle of Georgetown Street.  The Hyundai was a five speed with keyless ignition and the suspect was unable to restart the car after it stalled out. Not long after the stolen vehicle was found, a liquor store manager at North Broadway and New Circle says a woman came running in saying that she had picked up a strange man who seemed to need help.

The woman who picked up the man, says he began acting strangely so she pulled over and demanded he get out. When he exited the vehicle, the man dropped the cell phone and a gun. The woman panicked and ran into the liquor store for help.

The manager went out and followed the man to a car lot on North Broadway where he says the man began to harass a couple in a truck. The manager believed the suspect was going to carjack that vehicle as well.

That’s when Lexington Police arrived on scene. Officials tell LEX 18 that they do believe this is the suspect in the Georgetown carjacking.
