Missing Person Santa Clarita, CA Teen Found in Garage of Sex Offender

A teenage girl who was reported missing by her parents in the Santa Clarita area was found before dawn Wednesday in the garage of the home of a registered sex offender, who sexually assaulted her, according to the sheriff’s department.

The girl told deputies she befriended Kaene Dean, 26, at a grocery store in Santa Clarita.

The girl’s parents reported her missing at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Because of the girl’s age, she was considered to be a critical missing person.

Deputies from the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station searched the community and checked her phone records to find her. A man answered on one of the calls, who was later identified as Dean. He denied knowing the whereabouts of the girl.

When deputies arrived at the home, Dean’s parents allowed them inside, and they found the victim in the garage just before 2 a.m.

Dean is on parole for a burglary. He was required to register as a sex offender because of a conviction of indecent exposure.

Dean was booked at Santa Clarita Valley Station and held on a $100,000 bail.

Detectives are asking any adult or child who had contact with Dean to contact the Special Victims Bureau at 877-710-5273.

Missing Person Two Year Old Leadore, ID Boy Still Missing

The Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its efforts to find two-year-old DeOrr Kunz Jr., who went missing last Friday while on a camping trip with his family.

Authorities have not suspended the search, but they are asking that nobody go out and search for the boy as they plan to bring in dogs to help find any kind of scent.

After four days of searching near Timber Creek campground and still no trace of DeOrr, the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office has decided to start from scratch.

“We’re a little bit puzzled, but at times like that you just kinda return to square one and start over again, and that’s kinda were we’re at right now,” said Steve Penner with the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies thought they caught a break after a report came in of a possible sighting of the boy at the Ammon Walmart in Bonneville County. But an investigation by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office concluded it was not DeOrr.

“That was kind of one of those things you hope for and it didn’t pan out,” said Penner.

Their plan now is to bring in a couple dog units to help pick up any scent the child may have left behind.

“Probably most of searching from now on is going to involve a K9 effort,” said Penner.

The sheriff’s office has also brought in someone from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

“You just have an individual with a lot of experience that has seen a lot of these,” said Penner.

Right now, the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office is still open to all possibilities. They plan to continue their search efforts with K9 units for at least the next couple of days.

DeOrr was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, blue sweat pants, and boots.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, call the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office at 208-756-8980.

Wrongful Death Body of Woman Found in Lexington Home

The death of a Lexington woman found Tuesday inside of her home on River Park Circle has been ruled a homicide.

Following an autopsy on Wednesday, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office said Shirley Clemons, 64, died of asphyxiation.

Family members of Clemons, known in her neighborhood as “Miss Shirley”, said the woman’s body was found wrapped in a sheet or blanket.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

“This doesn’t make sense,” Clemons’ neighbor and friend, Pamela Taylor told LEX 18’s Josh Breslow, “What happened to Miss Shirley? And who did it? That’s what’s been going through my head all night.”

Friends and relatives describe Clemons as a loud, friendly, caring woman who loved God and the Bible. Neighbors said her son lived with her and she would help take care of him.

“Oh God, I just miss her. I miss her already,” Taylor said. “She will be remembered and she will be greatly and truly missed.”

Clemons’ neighbors hope to do a balloon release in her memory. A time and date for that have not been set.

No arrests have been made in the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lexington Police Department at (859) 258-3600 or Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020.
