After investigating the “unusual circumstances” of a Union woman’s death on June 4, Boone County officials charged and arrested the woman’s boyfriend with murder on Wednesday afternoon.

Daniel Vetter, 33, of Union, was arrested at the Kenton County Detention Center, where he was already serving a 30-day sentence for a DUI conviction from June 5. Vetter was charged with murder with a domestic violence specification, tampering with physical evidence and falsely reporting an incident.

Vetter originally called 911 on June 4 and told dispatchers he was outside his apartment on the phone with his mother when his girlfriend began banging her head on a window and went unresponsive, according to a release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said Meranda Hobbs, 27, died after the incident.

“She banged her head against the window and she’s now unresponsive,” Vetter said on in the 911 tapes obtained by The Enquirer. “I’ve been trying to get her to come around for a couple of minutes and I can’t get her to and now I’m scared.

“I’m just really scared.”

Dispatchers later ask Vetter in the phone call how she hit her head on the window.

“We had been drinking this morning,” Vetter said. “It’s a long story. I was on the phone with my mother outside and I hear a big noise and she banged her head against the window and I’m calling you.”

Hobbs and Vetter were both living at the same address in the 10000 block of Turner Drive on the day of the incident, officials said.

“Unusual circumstances” surrounded the incident and led to further investigation from the Criminal Investigations Division, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Vetter is currently being held in the Kenton County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is among a host of agencies assisting Shasta County authorities in investigating the disappearance of a 6-month-old girl.

The case involving Ember Graham was reported earlier this week, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 5:30 a.m. Thursday 24-year-old Matthew Graham called 911 to report his daughter missing from his residence in Happy Valley.

Graham told authorities that he last saw the baby at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, and when he woke up at 5 a.m. Thursday she was missing from her crib.

Shasta County Sheriff’s investigators interviewed family members – including Matthew Graham and Jamie Lee Graham, the baby’s 19-year-old mother – and searched the area surrounding the residence where she was last seen.

The agency also deployed a multitude of various agencies, including the Child Abduction Response Unit, Shasta County Search and Rescue, California Office of Emergency Services, Redding Police, Anderson Police, California Highway Patrol, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office, Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, Shasta County District Attorney’s Office and Shasta County Child Family Services.

An Amber Alert was not issued in this case due to the lack of information needed to meet the criteria, such as a witness to the incident, a suspect or a suspect vehicle, authorities said.

On Friday, authorities said Matthew Graham was identified as a person of interest in the case. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office report said he had given inconsistent statements to investigators about the child’s disappearance.

That led investigators to shift their focus from the area near Graham’s home to the Clear Creek Road area – from Cloverdale Road east to Hwy 273 – also in Happy Valley.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office said it has increased the number of outside agencies to assist in the search for the missing infant, with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Butte County Sheriff’s Office, Napa County Sheriff’s Office, Trinity County Sheriff’s Office and Glenn County Sheriff’s Office joining the effort.

Investigators releasing a photograph of Matthew Graham’s pickup truck and are asking the public if anyone has seen the vehicle parked or driving in the Clear Creek Road area in Shasta County on Wednesday evening.

The vehicle is described as a 1990 dark blue, full-size extra cab, Chevrolet fleet side pickup with flat black paint on the side panels, black rims, no license plates and a cow bell hanging underneath the front bumper.

Shasta County Secret Witness has sent out a new reward posting up to $10,000 offered to anyone who could provide information on Ember Graham’s whereabouts or information about what lead to her disappearance.

Graham was brought into the Shasta County Jail by sheriff’s Investigators Thursday evening for a no-bail felony probation violation after he failed to disclose medication he took, pursuant to his probation terms. His probation stems from a driving under the influence and forgery conviction, officials said.

Graham has not been charged with any crimes related to the disappearance of his daughter, officials said.

Ember Graham is considered to be missing and at risk due to a seizure disorder.  According to family members, the child needs medications for her condition.

The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) is searching for missing teenager Desiree Ortiz.

The 15-year old was last seen on Thursday, July 2, 2015 near the 1400 block of North Meridian Road wearing a florescent yellow shirt with black leopard print and blue jean shorts. Police say she also had a back pack with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle design.

She is described as 5 feet tall, 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Massachusetts State Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a toddler-aged girl, whose body turned up on the western shore of Deer Island in Winthrop on June 25.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created a computer-generated image of what the girl would look like in an effort to help police identify the girl. They say she was about 4 years old when she died.

In addition, police released images of her leggings, which were very distinct–they are white with black polka dots. She was also found with a black and white zebra-stripe blanket.

The girl is described as having brown hair and brown eyes, she weighed about 30 pounds and was about 3.5 feet tall.

A one-time adult sex offender is under arrest –after being caught with a child in an ice cream truck.

The incident happened on Hillcrest Avenue — an area with a lot of apartments and a lot of kids.

The suspect, 36-year-old Tylon Jarrett, is not supposed to be with anyone under the age of 16.

Back in the late 90s, early 2000s, Jarett was involved in a case and according to the Hartford Courant’s coverage, he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a minor.

He was sentenced to jail time and then 10 years on the sex offender registry.

On Wednesday, Hartford police alerted West Hartford PD that this suspect was in an ice cream truck in the neighborhood– when cops caught up with him he gave them a false name.

He’s being charged with criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer, and he’s likely also going to be charged with probation violation.

At the time, Jarrett was approached by the cops, there was a 13-year-old in the ice cream truck.

The 13-year-old told officers that his mother owned the truck. The mother came to the scene and took possession of the truck and took the 13-year-old home.

Tylon Jarrett has a court date on July 8. Bond was set at $10,000.

A nationwide operation to stop child pornography resulted in the arrests of nine people in Colorado.

In April police in Parker arrested six men on charges of soliciting child prostitution. They’re accused of communicating with children with the Intent to engage in sexual acts.

Three other men were arrested in the following weeks. They’re all facing charges of criminal attempted sexual assault on a child, among others.

The sting was called Operation Broken Heart II.

“The operation conducted in April and May focused on offenders who possess, manufacture, and distribute child porn, engage in online enticement of children for sexual purposes, engage in child prostitution, and engage in child sex tourism,” Parker police said in a statement.

Police sought the public’s help Friday to locate an 89-year-old woman who has been reported missing in Orange County.

According to the Newport Beach Police Department, Edna Parichan was last seen leaving a Chevron gas station around 4 a.m. in El Segundo. She has been missing since 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Officers said Parichan is driving a red Fiat with a California license place that reads: 6YGT4729.

Detectives described her as a Caucasian woman who has grey hair, blue eyes, stands 5-foot-2 tall and weighs 100 pounds.

She lives in Fresno, and was vacationing in Newport Beach with her husband.

Her reason for leaving and her destination remain unknown.

Officers added she is in need of heart medication, and is considered to be an “at risk” missing person.

Beau Alexis Miles is a 24 year old black male that has been reported missing and could be in danger. He was last seen on June 28, 2015 at around 6:00 a.m. and was last heard from by text around 11:00 am that same day.
