Pedophile Tracking Former Denver Church Official Charged

A former official at The Potter’s House Church in Denver was arrested recently in Texas on charges of sexually assaulting a child he met through the church.

According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, Leroy Lowe, 50, was arrested by police in Arlington, Texas, on June 18 on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, sexual exploitation of a child and child enticement. The department is asking that Lowe be extradited back to Colorado.

Lowe, who was an executive coordinator at The Potter’s House, moved to Texas this spring. According to the alleged victim’s family, Lowe had sex with a 17-year-old girl who is a member of the church, located at 9495 E. Florida Ave. The family said the assault occurred in February over Valentine’s Day weekend. Lowe took the girl, who has not been identified, to lunch. The pair then stopped at his home, where the attack allegedly occurred.

After news of the alleged incident spread within the church, the family said, Lowe’s salary was cut and he was banned from the church before being fired in March.

The Arapahoe Sheriff’s Office started their investigation at about that time, after being contacted by the girl’s family.

In a statement issued by The Potter’s House, Senior Pastor Chris Hill said the church was “horrified and deeply saddened” by the incident.

“We reported all information to the police and took all necessary precautions to ensure our beloved church members and our staff was safe from any potential harm,” the statement said. “This included immediate suspension of Lowe, his removal from the premises and banning from all church activities.

“We have zero tolerance for any disrespectful, dishonest and illegal behavior. We trust our justice system will determine the best action for this incident.”

Lowe remains in the Tarrant County Corrections Center in Texas on a $50,000 bond.

Missing Person Car Found in TN Amber Alert, Girl Still Missing

The maroon Ford in which authorities think a convicted sex offender was riding with a Hawkins County girl has been located, the TBI announced late Thursday.

The two people, however, remain missing. Authorities also didn’t say where the vehicle had been located.

An AMBER alert was issued this week for Hayleigh Wilson, 14, after she was lase seen at a Walmart in Marion, N.C., on Tuesday morning with Benjamin Shook, 41. Shook has an active warrant for failure to register as a sex offender in Georgia.

Hayleigh willingly left her Surgoinsville home Monday night.

The TBI’s Josh DeVine told 10News via Twitter that the agency was “not yet in a position to disclose” where the vehicle was found. The TBI is working “several leads,” he said.

Family members and authorities believe Hayleigh stole her stepfathers car, along with his wallet that was inside.

“We were hoping she’d run off with one of her little boyfriends, to have a night out on the town, but it didn’t work out that way,” Hayleigh’s father, Eddie Wilson said.

Law enforcement cannot confirm the place where Hayleigh and Shook met up.

Hayleigh’s parents both said they believe their daughter met Shook through a mobile app called Kik, which is an instant messaging application.

“I’m positive if she’d known that this guy was a sex offender, the child that she is, she would’ve never accepted someone like that,” Eddie Wilson said. “These pedophiles have ways of getting into kids’ minds, and just destroying them.”

Family and community members said this behavior is shocking.

“I’ve known Hayleigh for awhile. She seemed like a pretty normal kid, I mean, straight A student,” Surgoinsville Police Chief, James Hammonds.

However, several months ago, Hayleigh’s mother found text messages on her daughters phone from older men.

“I found text messages with older men that I did not think were appropriate,” Stacy Johnston said.

Hayleigh lost phone privileges, but her mom said inappropriate conversations continued on social media.

“Come to find out, as of yesterday, she has created other accounts that we were not aware of,” Johnston said.

The TBI said a vehicle that carried a sex offender

Identity Theft Alabama Duo Arrested in Columbus, MS

Two men from the Birmingham area had a surprise waiting for them when they showed up at H&R Agri-Power in Columbus on Saturday.

Investigators with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department say Eric Malone, 31, and Roderick Jemison, 32, came to pick up equipment from the Highway 182 East business allegedly purchased with stolen credit card information. When they came to retrieve the items, deputies were waiting to arrest them.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

Master Sgt. Darrell Nabors with LCSD said the purchases were made by phone. Authorities do not believe Malone or Jemison made the call. They believe the two were likely working with someone else.

The owner of the credit card, who lives out-of-state, contacted H&R Agri-Power and said there were purchases from the business that she was not responsible for, according to Nabors.

Malone and Jemison both face charges of identity theft.

The incident is still under investigation.

Nabors said the FBI may become involved because the crime happened across state lines.
