Police in Benbrook issued an alert Monday afternoon for a nine-year-old girl who was last seen on Friday.

The parents of Caitlyn Williams told investigators that she left home on her bicycle around 3:30 Friday afternoon to spend the weekend with a friend just a few blocks away. She had been expected to return on Sunday.

Police were summoned on Monday after the Benbrook Elementary School student did not come home. The FBI has joined the investigation of her disappearance.

“The investigators are talking with the parents, they’re talking with relatives, they’re talking with friends, they’ve been out canvassing neighbors, fliers have been printed up,” said police spokesman Officer Sandy Eubanks. “We hope that maybe there’s some information out there that someone has that they don’t know that’s important that the investigators may turn up.”

Caitlyn was last seen wearing a yellow T-shirt with a “Benbrook Field Day” logo, blue jeans, and pink-and-black tennis shoes.

She was riding a pink, purple and white bicycle in the neighborhood near her home in the 1100 block of Wade Hampton Street, about a mile north of Benbrook Lake.

Caitlyn is described as white, 4′-4″ tall, 95 lbs. with brown, wavy hair to the middle of her back.

Police say that two people – including the wife of the victim – have been arrested in the death of a man Monday morning near Buffalo and Sahara in what is being described as a domestic-related homicide

Police initially said a couple were pulled over after experiencing car trouble about 2:30 a.m. The suspect approached them and then attacked the man with a hatchet, stabbing and killing the man.

Arriving officers located an adult male who was deceased at the scene with multiple traumatic injuries to his body, believed to be from a hatchet. Also at the scene was his wife, later identified as 33-year-old Maria Hernandez of Idaho.

The woman called 911. The attacker then took off in the vehicle, a 2002 Ford minivan. The vehicle, which had Idaho license plates, was found later on the 3900 block of South Eastern Avenue, near Viking Road.

Homicide detectives indicated that the victim and Hernandez were visiting from out of town and met with Maria’s brother, later identified as 22-year-old Hector Gutierrez of California.

Through the investigation it was learned that Maria requested the assistance of Hector to kill the victim. At some point during the evening, Hector attacked the victim with a hatchet with the assistance of Hernandez.

The suspect then fled in the victim’s vehicle, which was later located and recovered. During the attack of the victim, Gutierrez received a non-life threatening stab wound, for which he received treatment at UMC.

Detectives arrested both Hernandez and Gutierrez for murder with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit murder. Hernandez and Gutierrez were transported to the Clark County Detention Center and booked accordingly.

This is the 47th homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2015. The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

The search for a missing Monroe county two-year old has come to a tragic end Monday night.

Troopers with Kentucky State Police found the body of Laynee Wallace not far from where she was reported missing.

All this comes hours after they arrested the man, twenty-five year old Anthony Barbour, who’s accused of taking her.

Kentucky State Police had been on the hunt for Barbour since last Sunday, when they say he took his girlfriend’s two-year old daughter.

Considered armed and dangerous, investigators canvassed the county for more than a week and found Barbour Monday afternoon with a stroke of luck.

Police say a woman, who lives near Temple Hill Road, came home this afternoon to find Barbour was waiting for her.

That woman’s cousin, who lives across the street says he saw what happened next.

“Mr. Barbour was in her house and he had a rifle at that time and he asked her to get in the truck drive her to Glasgow,” said Carey Harvey, victim’s cousin. “So she started down the road and the Kentucky State Police was going the other directions and happen to see him.”

Carey says the trooper noticed his cousin was not wearing a seat belt and pulled her over for a traffic stop and then noticed Barbour in the truck.

Hours after his arrest, troopers say they found Wallace’s body in a well just a few miles from the home she shared with Barbour and her mother

Troopers say Wallace’s body will be taken to Louisville for an autopsy, where they will determine the cause of death.

No word yet what charges Barbour is facing.

Corbin police are questioning two suspects in a case of weekend vandalism that targeted facilities used by children.

Corbin Little League information officer Ronnie Smith says vandals hit Sanders Park, the Corbin football field and the community’s Little League field, spray painting walls and even memorials. Smith says profanity was written on the back of a dugout, which was removed by city workers in time for today’s games.

“We are just appalled at this happening and we just want justice,” Smith says.

After Smith posted pictures of the vandalism along with surveillance video, he received more than 100 messages. The online help led to the questioning of a juvenile and one adult, identified as 22-year-old Joseph Couch.

Police say Couch will be charged with several counts of criminal mischief. No word yet if the juvenile will face the same charges.

Kentucky State Police have confirmed that the suspect in the disappearance of a Western Ky. child has been taken into custody. Officials also say that the search for the 2-year-old is still ongoing.

Police have located and arrested Anthony Barbour in connection with the disappearance of 2-year-old Laynee . Reports say that Barbour was the boyfriend of Laynee’s mother. He was located during  a traffic stop near the Temple Hill volunteer fire department.

Police are searching the Barren/Monroe County area but have not acknowledged numerous reports on social media that the child is dead.

Laynee and Barbour had not been seen since Sunday, May 17. They were reported missing the following Tuesday by family members.

An Indiana minister has been arrested, accused of sodomy and sexual abuse against a child under 12 years of age.

Duncan Aker, Jr. is now the pastor at Greensburg Christian Church. But the sex charges stem from his last calling as a minister in Vanceburg, Kentucky.

In Greensburg, neighbors and church members expressed shock, disbelief and anger at the news. Many say 63-year-old Duncan Aker was more than a minister.

Debbie Powers and her mom live next door to Aker and his wife.

“He’s just a nice neighborhood man from the time he moved in the neighborhood,” Powers said. “He mowed lawns, helped with gardening and helped carry in groceries.”

Powers’ mom, Colleen Hawkins, attended church at Greensburg Christian, where Aker serves as pastor. Now, they’ve learned he’s accused of violating a child.

“He is a nice man. I’m not going to believe this until somebody can prove it to me,” Hawkins said.

“I just can’t believe he’d be involved in something like that ,” Powers added. “It must be a mistake.”

Greensburg Police say they arrested Aker on May 3 on warrant out of Kentucky. They jailed him in Greensburg, then extradited him south.

Aker was a minister in Vanceburg, Kentucky before moving to Indiana. Kentucky State Police have been investigating him for four months.

A grand jury indictment alleges Aker sexually abused a child in Kentucky multiple times between 2007 and 2010. The indictment alleges the abuse occurred in Aker’s car, his home, even inside the Vanceburg church where he preached.

“It makes me angry. Very angry,” said Rhonda Rigby, who attended Aker’s current church in Greensburg, but only for a month.

“I just started getting some bad vibes,” Rigby explained. “I watched him with kids. They seemed to like him, but he said that he always made sure that he was out in the open with them. I kind of…that made me suspicious of, why, if you’re not guilty, then why do you even have to say that?”

Rigby says she just didn’t feel right around this minister. Still, the alleged crimes against a child, especially inside a church, disturbed and surprised her.

“Oh my lord! It’s just really shocking! I mean…now I know what my bad vibes were about,” Rigby said.

Eyewitness News went to Duncan Aker’s home. His wife answered the door, but refused to talk about the allegations. Her husband remains in a Kentucky jail on $200,000 bond.

Greensburg Police say Aker is not being investigated for any crimes in Indiana. He’s due in a Kentucky court on the felony sex charges there on Friday.
