Missing Person Michael Gorley of Lincoln County

The family of a Lincoln County man missing for 10 days hopes a $1,000 reward will lead to information in his disappearance.

Michael Gorley, 38, was last seen around 9 p.m. on May 17th. Gorley’s mother, Sandra Hasty said the man was wearing a pair of teal and white Hawaiian swim trunks, as he walked along Knob Lick Road toward Junction City.

“We don’t know what happened. All we know is he’s missing. That’s all that we can say is that he’s a missing person,” Hasty told LEX 18’s Josh Breslow on Wednesday. “I’m grieving. I’m devastated. I’m angry. Someone has taken my child away from me.”

Gorley lives with his mother in Lincoln County and he also takes care of her. She said she believes the father of two was attacked but she did not want to go into any more detail.

Kentucky State Police are investigating Gorley’s disappearance but they have not released any information on the case.

“My son would not worry me like this. He knows I’m not in good health. He would not worry me like this,” Hasty said. “We need to know something. Somebody reach into your heart and think of me as a mother.”

To get the word out, Gorley’s family has circulated fliers and created a Facebook page: “Justice For Michael Gorley.” They are also offering a $1,000 reward and selling decals with Michael’s name for $10, in an attempt to raise money to increase the reward.

“Someone come clean. I know there’s someone out there who wants to tell what’s happened. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid to tell,” Hasty said.

Anyone with information on Gorley’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Richmond Post of Kentucky State Police at (859) 623-2404.

Private Detective: Perry County Clerk Indicted on 7 Counts

The Perry County Clerk who caused some controversy after a cell phone video appeared to show him knocking on the window of a college student’s car and asking her questions after running her license plate has been indicted on several criminal charges and violations related to the incident.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

According to the seven-count indictment, the incident stemmed from road rage when King “tail-gaited” and followed victim, Kalie Bentley, who was driving in her grandfather’s car, with the intent to harass and intimidate her. The victim recorded the encounter on her cell phone and posted it to social media.

That video quickly went viral.

In the video, King identifies himself by name and tells the girl that because the car has a handicapped plate, a disabled person has to be in the car.

Bentley had borrowed her grandfather’s car to run errands. She tried to explain that to King and got this response; “I know exactly where you live. I ran your plate.” LEX 18 confirmed that only courts and police have law enforcement access to plate information.

When LEX 18 Investigates reporter Richard Essex asked him if he had the authority to look up a license plate, King responded by saying he needed to speak to the county attorney.

He fled his office without making further comment.

King is facing the following counts:

Count 1: Wanton Engangerment – 1st degree – Class D Felony

The indictment states that King intentionally operated his vehicle in such a manner he manifested an extreme indifference to human life when he tail-gaited Kalie Bentley.

Count 2: Harassment – Violation

The indictment states that King followed Bentley into the parking lot of Hazard Community College with the intent to intimidate her for no legitimate purpose.

Count 3: Reckless Driving – Violation

The indictment states that King operated his vehicle without regard to safety and convenience of pedestrians and other vehicles.

Count 4: Menacing – Class B Misdemeanor

The indictment states that King put Kalie Bentley in reasonable apprehension when he blocked her from exiting her vehicle after following her.

Count 5: Stalking – Second Degree – Class A Misdemeanor

The indictment states that King commuted stalking in the second degree when he stalked Kalie Bentley for several miles and used official equipment to run her license plate.

Count 6: Unlawful Imprisonment – Class A Misdemeanor

The indictment states that King unlawfully restrained Kalie Bentley by positioning his vehicle behind hers in the parking lot.

Count 7: Official Misconduct in the First Degree- Class A Misdemeanor.

The indictment states that King misrepresented his office, of Perry County Clerk, as having peace officer authority to follow another citizen, detain them, and running license plates.

On the advice of their attorney, Kalie Bentley and her family chose not to speak with LEX 18.

Wrongful Death Man Accused in Death of Lexington Attorney Faces Judge

The Georgetown man accused of killing a cyclist in this weekend’s Horsey Hundred Race had his first court appearance.

Tuesday, Odilon Paz-Salvador was arraigned on charges of murder, DUI, wanton endangerment and fleeing after police say his actions killed attorney Mark Hinkel. It was the last mile of a 100 mile ride when the Lexington Attorney was struck and killed. Police say Paz Salvador lost control, hitting Hinkel head on.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Paz-Salvador was charged with DUI after police found beer inside the vehicle. They say that he also confessed to smoking marijuana.

Family members told LEX 18 that the crash was a complete accident.

“I don’t want him to be viewed as a criminal I want him to be viewed as someone who did something on accident he didn’t have no intentions to do this at all,” says Alejandroy Wray, Paz-Salvador’s nephew.

Those closest to Hinkel say that even if that’s the case, it was an accident that could have been avoided.

“All of us are still in a state of shock about that. That it was just senseless. It just doesn’t make any sense and that’s what everyone is having a hard time coping with right now,” says William Shouse, a co-worker of Hinkel’s.

Hinkel will be laid to rest Thursday. Visitation will be held at Milwards Funeral Home on Man o’War, Wednesday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. His funeral mass will be held at Christ the King on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
