Accident Reconstruction One Killed in Jessamine County Crash

A man has been arrested and charged with DUI after his passenger died when he crashed his truck.

“The guy was out of the car but he was screaming and cursing and saying he didn’t want his girlfriend to die,” said Emily Dean, a witness.

Dean says she and her dad were on their way home when they saw a truck drive off the road and into a ditch.

They say the driver got out, but his girlfriend, was pinned underneath the truck.

“All I heard was one siren and then someone was knocking on the door,” said Joyce Barber, a neighbor.

“I walked up here to the house to see if they had a block or something to put underneath the wheels,” said Walker Deering, a passerby. “In case it decide to fall.”

Deputies with the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office said several people lifted the truck and pulled the woman out.

Shortly, thereafter, emergency workers arrived and the woman was flown to UK Hospital where she later died.

“That’s really sad,” said Barber. “It’s always sad to hear that.”

Deputies arrested the driver, Jeffery Tuggle, and charged him with DUI but believe those charged will likely be upgraded.

Barber lives just a few feet away from the accident and said speeding on the narrow, winding roads happens too often.

“Sometimes it looks like they’re driving on the interstate the way they drive past here,” said Barber.

“It’s not a really busy road,” said Deering. “But when cars speed, they fly.”

Deputies say as they investigate why Tuggle lost control of the truck, it appears the woman was thrown from it because she was not wearing a seat belt.

Private Detective: Search Continues For Shooting Suspect

The hunt for a man described as armed and dangerous, continued on Monday night.

Police said they are still searching for 55-year old Mark Showalter. On Sunday, Pulaski County Deputies arrested his son, Timothy, after investigators said the duo shot a woman in the head.

While 49-year old Allison Boclair recovers, her best friend is begging for help.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“If we didn’t see each other every day, we were constantly on the phone,” said Sarah Evans, when describing the friendship she and Allison Boclair have shared since they were 12 years old.

Now, Evans is praying this strong mother of three, will pull through.

“She is determined and if anybody can come out of this, she can,” said Evans.

Still, it’s hard for Evans to comprehend what happened to her friend, early Sunday morning..

“To have no regard for human life, you know he basically shot and took off and didn’t care whether she was alive or dead,” said Evans.

Pulaski County Deputies said 34-year old Timothy Showalter, and his father Mark, shot Boclair in the head at her home on Highway 542. Investigators said the crime wasn’t random and an argument led to the violence. After, Boclair was left in critical condition and taken to UK Hospital.

By Sunday afternoon investigators arrested Timothy at his house, about five miles from the crime scene. He is in the Pulaski County jail, charged for burglary and complicity to commit assault in the first degree. By Monday night, Mark was still on the run. Deputies said it was imperative they get him off of the streets.

“They said he is armed and dangerous. And like I said earlier, if he will do that to her, he will do that to anybody,” said Evans.

Back in 2013 Mark was arrested for attempted murder in a Lincoln County shooting. Those charges were later dropped. Boclair’s friends said it’s time Mark come forward.

“Turn yourself in, you were a coward whenever you done it. Act like a man and turn yourself in,” said Evans.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department said Mark Showalter is described as 5’10 weighing about 200 pounds. He has blue eyes, gray hair and a beard. Again, he’s considered armed and dangerous. Investigators ask anyone who knows where Mark is, to call police right away.
