Wrongful Death Murder Suspect Found Dead From Suicide

A western Kentucky Murder case seems to have come to an end. John Barnwell was found dead in his Caldwell County home Friday morning. It would have been the third day of his murder trial for the killing of Penni Riley. Prosecutors say Barnwell killed himself in his home. He had been on house arrest since earlier this year. One of Penni Rileys family members says the suicide robs the family of justice, they said it was “the cowardly way out.” Riley’s daughter says “Penni Riley can now rest. Both families are grieving now.”

Private Detective: Scott County Non Profit Burglarized

A worker for a Scott County non profit found the organization was broken into Friday morning.

Bea Snyder says she noticed the door to Old Friends was open when it is usually closed and locked. Synder says when she walked into the office and saw the mess a burglar had left behind. The cash register was smashed and about $300 had been stolen, papers were strewn through the space and a television was missing.

Cindy Grisolia says “every day of the week, we rely on donations, we rely on support from our followers, we supporting over 100 horses in Kentucky in New York and when I saw every dime counts it.” The property did have a security system but it wasn’t activated. For now workers say they’re just glad it wasn’t worse.

The Scott County Sheriff is investigating the burglary.

Missing Person Woman Missing For 21 Years Spotted in Lexington

A New Jersey woman who has been searching for her missing sister for more than two decades is focusing her search on Lexington after sightings of the missing woman.

Renee LaManna has been spotted several times lately here in Lexington, most recently Thursday. Her family is hoping these most recent sightings could be the ones that will finally bring her home.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

LaManna, who has severe amnesia, hasn’t been seen by her family since January 8, 1994.
They say she walked away that day from her sister’s New Jersey home after suffering a nervous breakdown and leaving a psychiatric hospital.  She suffers from a Dissociative Disorder that causes memory loss. Her sister believes she may not even know who she is.

She’s been spotted all over the country and now she has been spotted in Lexington

The Lexington Fire Department is stepping in to help by spreading the word on their Facebook page and doing what they can to bring an end to this 21 year heartache.

“Certainly this is a situation that no family would want to be in. Anytime a loved one goes missing it’s the utmost importance to everyone involved to locate that person and have a safe positive outcome,” says Jessica Bowman of the Lexington Fire Department

Renee is 57-years-old now, with brown eyes and brown hair. She is five-feet-two-inches tall and weighs around 130 pounds.

If you see her in Lexington you are asked to not approach her but to call 911.

If you have information, contact Renee’s sister, Margaret LaManna, at 561-339-2266.

Wrongful Death Friend Charged With Murder of Missing Lubbock, TX Teen

Lubbock Police announced Thursday a friend of missing Lubbock teen Mark Anthony Ysasaga is being charged with his murder. Though a body has not been found, investigators say they believe Jose Angel Simental, 20, killed Ysasaga at a home in Lubbock.

Ysasaga was 15 when he was last seen at the WalMart at the South Loop and Quaker Avenue the morning of June 14, 2012. According to the arrest warrant Simental, Ysasaga and one other person were seen on surveillance video leaving the store. Ysasaga’s mother reported him missing a day later.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“Based on the information available at the time it was investigated as a missing persons case,” Captain Jon Caspell said. There were many searches around various parts of the area over the past few years. Posters and billboards asked for the public’s help.

In July 2012, according to the warrant, investigators searched a home where Simental lived, on 27th Street near Flint Avenue. The home’s owner said new carpet and padding had been placed in the home. A detective noticed something was smeared or cleaned from about six feet of the hardwood.

It was March 2015 that other clues led investigators back to the home. According to the warrant, blood was found on the underside of removed floorboards.

“The blood evidence was in an amount and location that, when combined with statements and other corroborating evidence, led us to believe we had indeed located the scene of a homicide,” Caspell said. Forensics investigators confirmed in April the blood was Ysasaga’s.

Caspell said the department has proceeded with murder charges despite not finding a body before. “This does make it difficult without a body, but not impossible.”

Simental is being held on unrelated charges in Brazoria County, Texas. The extradition process will begin soon.

Police continue to ask for the public’s help. This includes the search for Ysasaga’s body.

“We think that’s absolutely critical, first and foremost for his family,” Caspell said. “They deserve to have closure and a place to lay him to rest.”

Investigators believe other people were involved. If you know anything in this case contact CrimeLine at 806.741.1000. You can remain anonymous. A $10,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to the recovery of Ysasaga.

Wrongful Death Man Charged in Death of Baby in Pregnant Girl’s Attack

A 23-year-old Chattanooga man has been charged with criminal homicide after police say he beat a 15-year-old pregnant girl and killed the baby she was carrying.

Police say Justin Armour attacked the girl on Tuesday in a vacant house near 2201 East 3rd Street. She gave birth to the stillborn baby — who Armour fathered — early Wednesday morning.

Medical staff believe the baby died because of trauma from the assault, according to police. The girl was five months pregnant.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

The girl and Armour had a history of domestic violence. The girl, who will not be identified by the Times Free Press because she is a minor, had an active order of protection against Armour when the attack occurred, according to court records.

The girl initially told patrol officers that she was walking with Armour and they got into a fight on the street, but investigators later discovered that the girl actually met Armour in the vacant house.

Armour locked the girl in a bedroom and beat her repeatedly throughout the day and into the night, according to police.

The girl told police Armour refused to let her leave. The girl also said Armour kneed her in the mouth, punched her in the ribs and knocked her unconscious. She said she woke up to find him kicking her in the stomach, according to the affidavit.

The girl said she tried to protect her unborn child but was unable to get away.

Armour has been charged with criminal homicide, domestic assault and false imprisonment. Police expect to file more charges as the investigation continues. He is being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a $750,000 bond.

The baby’s body will be taken to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office for a complete autopsy.
