Pedophile Tracking US Marshals Capture Man Wanted in VA Child Rape Case in Lexington

US Marshals arrested a man wanted in a Virginia child rape case in Lexington Wednesday.

A jury convicted Douglas “Scott” McBride, 51, of rape, taking indecent liberties with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in 2013, but he jumped bond and never showed up for his sentencing in Dinwiddie, Va.

Officials say marshals received a tip that McBride was hiding out in Lexington and tracked him to a home on Pasadena Avenue. Officers say the resident who opened the door initially denied McBride was there, but eventually let fugitive task force members inside. Officials say officers found McBride hiding in a back bedroom, along with 18 marijuana plants.

“The apprehension of this fugitive is a direct result of the perseverance of our investigators and the inter agency cooperation that exists on our fugitive task forces. Our citizens can rest a little easier tonight knowing this convicted child rapist is behind bars,” U.S. Marshal Robert Mathieson said.

Investigators say McBride had been in Lexington for about eight months.

He now faces additional drug charges in Kentucky.

Drug Dog Sweep Memphis Man Arrested For Smuggling Drugs Through Mail

Memphis police have made an arrest in a drug ring that stretches from Arizona to Memphis.

FOX13 discovered that Joseph Lee IV is the son of former MLGW President and current Deputy Director of Parks and Neighborhoods for the city of Memphis, Joseph Lee.

Police caught wind of a shipment that would be coming to Lee’s parent’s home.

They worked with postal inspectors, and a drug dog indicated the package had illegal drugs inside.

A postal employee delivered the package, and police observed the suspect taking the package inside, then driving off.

They stopped him, and searched the car and home and found the drugs, nearly 6 pounds of pot, and over $1,300 cash.

Lee also gave consent to check his primary residence where they found cash, a money counting machine, documents and a drug ledger.

Lee is scheduled to be in court tomorrow on charges of possession with intent to distribute and money laundering.

Private Detective: Lexington Man Points Gun During Road Rage Incident

Investigators have arrested a Lexington man in connection with a road rage incident involving a gun.

Thomas Moyer, 53, has been charged with wanton endangerment, DUI, and carrying a concealed weapon.

“I can’t believe it. I’ve seen road rage and this is unbelievable,” Matthew Viola, the alleged victim told LEX 18’s Josh Breslow on Wednesday.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Viola said he was driving from Knoxville to Cincinnati, Tuesday evening, when a man in gray Ranger cut him off along I-75 near mile marker 69, nearly causing a wreck. Viola said the driver of the Ranger then pulled up beside him, pointed a gun at him, and sped away.

“You’re going 70 miles an hour and you point a gun at a guy on the interstate? That’s freaking ludicrous, I think,” Viola said.

Following the Ranger for about 14 miles, Viola said he stuck with the vehicle until it parked at the Cannon Corner Marathon, off of the Duncannon Lane exit.

“If he pulled a gun on me, who knows what he’s gonna do? You know, I’m just thinking what if there’s an innocent little family, you know, riding down the road?” Viola said. “I was by myself, but I thought, what if this guy goes nuts and starts firing shots or something?”

Officers with the Richmond Police Department said they searched Moyer at the Marathon station and found a handgun and six rounds of ammo. They said Moyer even admitted he’d had a few beers, earlier, and that he takes Oxyconton and Oxycodone, daily.

“I’m just happy that he got caught and nobody got hurt,” Viola said.

Moyer bonded out of the Madison County Detention Center on Tuesday. He is expected to be arraigned on April 14.

Pedophile Tracking Virginia Sex Offender Faces Child Porn Charges

A convicted sex offender faces new charges after a computer technician told police he saw inappropriate pictures of children on the man’s computer. Waynesboro police charged David Wesley Lochner, 78, with four felony counts of knowingly possessing child pornography after officers found nearly 300 images of young boys on his computer last December.

Armed with a search warrant, Waynesboro detectives went to Lochner’s home on Dec. 11, 2014 after receiving a tip from a computer technician, who allegedly saw the inappropriate photos while repairing Lochner’s computer. The technician found the photos during a house call and reported them to police, according to Waynesboro Police Sgt. Brian Edwards.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

At the home, detectives seized two laptop computers and a flash drive. Over the last few months, every individual image was reviewed by the police department, as well as the Waynesboro Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.

“It’s a painstaking process and can’t be done in one sitting,” Edwards said, explaining the difficulty of investigating these types of crimes.

After reviewing all of the photos, police received warrants for Lochner’s arrest and he surrendered himself to the police department on Tuesday morning. After a consultation between Lochner’s defense attorney, the police department and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, Lochner is currently free on a bond of personal recognizance because of his numerous health issues, Edwards explained.

“There is no indication from reviewing these images that he took any of them or that there are any victims out there locally,” Edwards said. “We believe they were all downloaded off of the internet by Mr. Lochner.”

In 2004, Lochner was convicted of a class six felony producing or distributing child pornography in Bedford County, according to the Virginia State Sex Offender Registry. Because the new charges are his second, Lochner is now facing class five felonies and will face more jail time.

“Any person who commits a second or subsequent violation under this subsection shall be punished by a term of imprisonment of not less than five years nor more than 20 years in a state correctional facility, five years of which shall be a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment,” according to Virginia Code 18.2-374.1:1.

If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in jail.

Wrongful Death Man Arrested After Dismembered Body Found

Cherokee County investigators recovered evidence Tuesday afternoon which could be connected to a horrific killing.

Deputies arrested 63-year-old Terry Lee McKinney for the murder of a victim whom forensic scientists are working to identify.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver said someone called his office Sunday afternoon to report the discovery of what appeared to be human remains along Cherokee County Road 82, north of Cedar Bluff.  Investigators confirmed the body of a person, which was dismembered and strewn along the road.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

“I’ve been in law enforcement nearly 34 years and I’ve never seen anything like this,” Sheriff Shaver said.

“I’ve seen a lot, and I’ve seen people do things that you would never believe one human could do to another, but I’ve never seen this before.”

As the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit passed Country Road 137, they began to find portions of the victim’s body along the side of the road.  Investigators said it appeared as if the pieces were tossed from the window of a moving vehicle.

The Center for Applied Forensics at Jacksonville State University came to assist the sheriff’s office and Cedar Bluff police, as they are small law enforcement agencies and don’t have their own forensics lab.  The investigators searched for other parts of the victim’s body.  One officer said buzzards gathered in the area.

“It’s upsetting, when you consider this is a human being and this is what one human did to another human,” Shaver said.

“It’s very difficult because we have not been able to identify the remains.  It’s been sent to Huntsville for DNA testing where they will try to positively identify the remains.”

A Cedar Bluff police officer on patrol Tuesday afternoon noticed what could be additional evidence.  The sheriff’s office is waiting for forensics to confirm what it might be.

The sheriff said investigators believe the victim is a Cedar Bluff man who went missing from his home last Monday.  His family reported him missing Friday, and the sheriff said the man was last seen with McKinney.

“We learned that there was another case that could be related, on a missing person from Cedar Bluff, and after conducting a search warrant at a residence, we arrested Terry McKinney,” he said.

A judge set McKinney’s bond Monday at $1-million.
