Tallahassee Police are searching for missing teen Vanessa V. Hayes, 14.

Police say Hayes was last seen on Monday, March 2, 2015 in the area of Miccosukee Road and North Magnolia Drive wearing a black shirt, maroon flowered skirt, black leather jacket and black shoes.

TPD says Hayes likes to hang out on Roberts Avenue and at the Walker Ford Community Center.

She is described as a black female, 5’08”, 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Pulaski County deputies are investigating an armed store robbery. It happened Friday at the Dollar General Store on Highway 90 just after 10:30 p.m.

Deputies say two female employees were robbed at knife point by a man. The employees were tied up before the suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Investigators say the women were able to free themselves and call 911. Neither woman was injured.

Two people have died after a tractor trailer and passenger car collided in Boone County. It happened Saturday in the westbound lanes of the Carrol C. Cropper bridge.

Westbound traffic is currently shut down in the area and drivers are being re-routed.

Bridge inspectors have been called out to examine the structure. The Accident gReconstruction Unit is also on the scene to investigate the crash.

Sheriff’s deputies say the driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. The names of the victims have not been released.

Jose Ruben Mada, 53, a man who spent 26 years as a teacher and a teacher’s aide before resigning and who has recently been employed part-time for the City of Phoenix “working as an after school arts and crafts coordinator with kids ages 6-12 years old,” was arrested and accused of child molestation and child sexual abuse, according to a March 4 report from Fox News’ KSAZ in Phoenix. Mada was taken into custody on Tuesday by detectives with the Phoenix Child Crimes’ division.

The Arizona Republic reported police as saying that Mada has been sexually abusing children, some of which included his own students, since the 1990s. Mada’s arrest came following complaints lodged by a woman who said that Mada abused her between 1995 and 1997 when she was still a young teen.

The woman said that Mada would enter her room “and touch her breasts and vagina while kissing her, reports show,’ according to The Arizona Republic. The woman also told police that Mada told her back then never to tell anyone that he had touched and kissed her.

That same report includes a statement Mada made after being confronted by his victim. He said he didn’t know why he did what he did except to say it was “just one of those things that happened.” The police report on Mada also contains allegations that the former teacher had behaved inappropriately and had touched and kissed other students dating back to the early 2000s. When teaching fourth grade at Bethune Elementary in the Phoenix Elementary School District in 2002, Mada was fired after being charged with sexual harassment.

Afterwards, Mada transferred to Rose Linda Elementary in the Roosevelt Elementary School District and resigned in 2009 after allegations made by another student who told the school nurse that “she was afraid of him because he would kiss her, touch her legs and slap her on the buttocks, according to State Board of Education documents,” as shared by The Arizona Republic. Police investigated those allegations but were never able to prove that any criminal acts had actually transpired. The police report filed against Mada states that the former elementary school teacher told police that he has “struggled with his sexual attraction to children for years.”

Authorities are investigating a horrific case of sexual assault that prosecutors believe went on for half a decade.

The suspect is being held without bond at the Douglas County Jail and, this week, waived his right to a preliminary hearing.  49-year-old James Fisher is charged felony 1st degree sexual assault of a child with a prior conviction.

In February, an 11-year-old relative told investigators at Project Harmony that Fisher had been sexually assaulting her since she was 5-years-old.  Court documents say he would sometimes blindfold her during the crimes.  Fisher spent more than 12 years in prison for sexually assaulting another young girl, who was just 4-years-old, in 1993.

“It’s a difficult situation.  He’s obviously a dangerous person, he’s already been convicted, he is a predator I would argue at this point.  And now we have new allegations, another child, another child victimized which is something that we just work to prevent when we can, and when you see this happen it’s very frustrating and disheartening,” said Deputy Douglas Co. Attorney Molly Keane.

The affidavit describes how the victim’s mother initially didn’t believe the sexual assaults could’ve happened, and it was a misunderstanding.  Though she knew Fisher was a convicted sex offender she didn’t believe he would do that.

Sheryl Overby counsels mothers of sexually abused children, and says it can be very difficult for parents to process what may have happened to their child.

“It’s a terrible, terrible, terrible thing to think that somebody you love could do something so horrible,” Overby explained. “They blame themselves too frankly which creates more denial; more wanting to avoid it, don’t want to deal with it because they feel so awful.”

Because it is a 2-nd offense, Fisher faces a minimum of 25 years in prison if convicted.

“Darkness to Light” is a training program that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.  It’s offered at Project Harmony on April 1st, July 1st, and October 7th from 9am-11:30am.  The program will be offered for free on April 15th starting at 6:30pm at Project Harmony.

A felony complaint has revealed new details in the investigation into the homicide of a Round Rock Kia general manager over the weekend.

Nancy Khan, also known as Nancy Flores, is charged with tampering with physical evidence after authorities found her husband, Ali Khan, dead in their Round Rock home on Saturday. Investigators claim they found evidence linking Nancy to the crime scene and suspect she may have moved her husband’s body after he was killed.

Detectives responded to the Khans’ home on Los Alamos Court after Khan’s coworker at Round Rock Kia reported that Ali did not show up to work on Saturday. The coworker told investigators he went to the Khans’ house, and when Ali did not answer the door, he called Nancy, who said she was out of town and would not be home for several hours.

Investigators said Nancy gave Ali’s coworker “unsolicited details of her marital problems” over the phone while she was driving home. When she got home around 1 p.m., the complaint states, she told Ali’s coworker to wait outside while she went in the house because her husband “may not be fully clothed.” According to investigators, Ali’s coworker heard Nancy scream, and when he went inside the house, Ali was dead on the floor of the master bathroom with a gunshot wound to his head.

The complaint states Nancy told detectives that jewelry and money had been stolen from the home. Investigators later found an expensive men’s watch, believed to be Ali’s, as well as blood-stained pants from her vehicle. Investigators also found physical evidence potentially linking Nancy to the crime scene, including a shell casing from a 9mm weapon near Ali’s body. The complaint states a box for a 9mm pistol was found in Nancy’s vehicle, but they have not yet found the weapon. They also found blood on Nancy’s feet.

Family and friends were searching Friday for 18-year-old Anjelica “AJ” Hadsell, who hasn’t communicated with them since March 2.

Norfolk Police said Thursday they were trying to confirm whether she was spotted on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University.

Hadsell was was last heard from via text around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Her parents reported her missing from their Tarrallton neighborhood home around 9:15 that night.

Her mother says something just doesn’t seem right.

“The conversation, in my opinion, was kind of off. I can’t be 100 percent sure I know that was my daughter I was texting. I know how she talks and I know the type of things she says,” said Jennifer Hadsell.

The Longwood University freshman was home for Spring Break.

Police initially said there’s no indication of any foul play, but they continue to look for her.

Her friends have been coming in and out of her home and passing out missing flyers in the neighborhood.

“This is not Anjelica. We all know her, we know how she would act and this is out of character,” said her longtime friend Andre Barr.

Police have issued an endangered missing person advisory for a St. Louis County man with dementia, who was last seen Thursday around 10 A.M.

Eighty four year old Ronald Gamache was last seen by his wife in south St. Louis County on Thursday morning.

He may be driving a gold 2014 Chevrolet Malibu with Missouri licence plate FL4-T8B.

Gamache is described as a white male, 5-foot-11 and about 195 pounds. He was wearing a rust-colored, long-sleeve polo shirt and khaki pants.

Police say his credit card was last used at 4:25 a.m. Friday morning in Farmer City, Ill. Before that, it was used in Macomb and Rushville.

U.S. marshals found and captured a fugitive in Portsmouth Tuesday, a man who has been wanted for child sex crimes for more than a year.

Teon Garland is accused of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 16 in Portsmouth in December 2013, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Chris Leuer.

Garland was indicted over the summer for carnal knowledge, but didn’t show up at court to face the charge, Leuer said.

A warrant was issued for his arrest, and Portsmouth police requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to help track him down. The investigation led to a residence on Swanson Parkway in Portsmouth.

Tuesday afternoon, Garland was seen going inside the home, where he was quickly taken into custody. He is being held at Portsmouth City Jail.
