Private Detective: Bullying Drove Girl to Suicide

A middle school student in Bardstown took her own life just days before Christmas and her family says it happened because she was being bullied at school.

Reagan was a normal 7thgrader who loved Starbucks, taking selfies and traveling. However her parents, Bill and Melanie Hack, say that their bubbly daughter had reached a breaking point with a group of female bullies at her middle school. With a bottle of pills, the Hacks say their daughter attempted to numb the pain.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Regan collapsed and died a few days later.

Now the living room in the family’s home is stuck in time, Christmas morning. Nothing in the home has been touched and the presents have not been opened.

Hindsight in situations like these is always 20/20. The Hacks say they believe they could have done more to help to help their daughter but they say the school should have done more too.

Melanie says she visited the school three times this semester to take up the issue with the school’s principal, but the threats and name calling continued. Regan’s home wasn’t even a safe haven for the 12-year-old because the bullying was also bad on social media.

But now the Hacks, and families of kids in similar situations, have rallied around the memory of Regan vowing to spread a message.

“My daughter daughter doesn’t have a voice anymore, but this community is gonna make sure she does.  And I’m damn sure gonna make sure she does,” says Bill Hacks.

If there’s anything positive to come out of Regan’s tragedy, Bill and Melanie say their daughter was an organ donor.

Drug Dog Sweep Man Arrested as 1.1 Kilos of Heroin Found in Bag

David Mendez Bojorquez’s journey from Arizona to Ohio got cut short this month when a federal agent at the Greyhound bus station in Albuquerque detected what he believed was an anomaly in a suitcase.

As it turned out, the hardness that Jarrell Perry thought shouldn’t be there was a false compartment containing 1.1 kilos of heroin in a plastic-wrapped package.

Bojorquez was arrested and on Monday pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute more than a kilo of the drug. He was released to La Pasada Halfway House following a detention hearing earlier this month.

http://liarcatchers.com/drugdogsweeps.html

Perry, who works the bus station as part of drug interdiction efforts by the Drug Enforcement Administration and has been involved in more than 1,200 seizures, said in an affidavit that he became suspicious when, looking at a passenger list, he saw that Bojorquez – whose name he spelled “Boroque” – had paid cash. That and the fact that he was traveling with one suitcase from a source city for illegal narcotics, Glendale, Ariz., to Toledo, Ohio, a destination city for the same drugs.

Perry said he had made “several” arrests of passengers traveling between those cities in his 15 years as an agent.

He was on hand for the 10-minute Albuquerque layover at 2:55 a.m. on Dec. 7 to watch passengers get off and had a look at the luggage.

A blue “Charlie Sport” brand soft-side bag with blue dots caught his eye.

The tag showed the name “Borojquez” and the back was hard to the touch, which he said he thought indicated a false compartment based on his experience “observing thousands of suitcases over (a) 15-year career in interdiction.”

Perry approached Bojorquez, who he said never looked at him, but looked straight ahead, which Perry found “odd.” He got Bojorquez’s permission to search the blue duffel bag with him, which contained nothing suspicious, and then asked to search the checked bag, which Bojorquez said had “nothing illegal.” He did not give permission, saying the bag had medication, but Perry told him he was going to detain the bag to have a drug dog sniff it.

He told Bojorquez he was free to continue his journey without the suitcase and Bojorquez opted to stay with it. The canine handler called in by Perry arrived just after 5 a.m. and Pete, the dog certified in detecting various narcotics, indicated that drugs were present.

A federal magistrate gave permission to search the bag and Bojorquez was arrested.

Wrongful Death Third Arrest Made in Connection With Shooting that Killed Pregnant Student

Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with a shooting in Winchester that left a pregnant EKU student dead and three other people hurt.

Winchester police say Aaron Stailey, 18, was the man caught on surveillance video dropping one of the victims off at the hospital after the Dec. 23 shooting.

Police say Lamont Wilkerson, 20, barged into an apartment with Stailey and another person, and started shooting. A stray bullet hit and killed 19-year old Amber Caudill, who was in the apartment below. Winchester police say they worked with Richmond police and identified Stailey as one of the people who broke into the apartment and as the man on the surveillance video.

Police charged Stailey with murder and burglary.

Wilkerson is already in custody facing murder and burglary charges. His girlfriend, Lillian Barnett, was charged with complicity to murder.

Pedophile Tracking Rossville, GA Man Charged With Sodomy

A Rossville man is being held without bond in Catoosa County after police say he committed heinous sexual acts on a child.

Marshall Wilson, 53, of Rossville was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of sodomy; two counts of molestation and one count of rape.

A relative of Wilson told WDEF that Wilson turned himself in to authorities on Monday after police previously questioned him and tried to get him to take a polygraph test.

That same relative who asked not to be identified is questioning the timing of this investigation. He told WDEF the alleged crimes occurred in January of 2008. He also said the alleged victim who is not a family member was at least ten years old when the crime supposedly happened. He questions why the girl is coming forward with this information 6-years later.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Meanwhile, WDEF went to Wilson’s last known address in Rossville and talked to several of his former neighbors. They told WDEF that in their eyes, any sexual crimes against children should be dealt with harshly.

“You don’t do that to kids. You really don’t. Kids are innocent. Kids shouldn’t be put in something like this,” said Norma Redmon.

“I’m quite shocked about it. I don’t know how I would react if my kids ever got touched or or anything. I’d probably lose it,” said Tiffany Brooks.

WDEF made numerous attempts to get in touch with Fort Oglethorpe Detective Tammy Davis who is investigating the case. But Davis was unavailable to comment.

According to another detective, the arrest report has yet to be finished because more witnesses have yet to give statement.

Meanwhile Wilson remains in the Catoosa County jail; a jail that in recent months has housed a fair share of inmates accused of sex crimes against minors. In many of those cases, the crimes were not immediately reported.

Catoosa County Sheriff Garry Sisk told WDEF that there are many legitimate reasons why children are afraid to report being a victim of a sex crime. But he’s urging all children to speak up.

“If you’re being touched inappropriately; propositioned by an adult person inappropriately, you need to tell another adult,” Sisk said.

Pedophile Tracking Former Children’s Hospital Dr. Charged in North Carolina

A pediatric emergency room physician formerly employed at Miami Children’s Hospital has turned himself in to police in North Carolina to face felony charges that he allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy while on vacation in the Tar Heel state in July, according to police and news reports.

Robert Kemp Crockett III, 62, surrendered at the Brunswick County Jail the week of Dec. 8 after a warrant was issued for his arrest, reported Star News Online. He was released on $50,000 bail.

Crockett, who has lived in Coral Gables for nearly 20 years, could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

According to the investigation report and arrest warrant issued by the Ocean Isle Beach Police Department, the alleged sexual assault occurred in the victim’s home on July 30 and 31. The incident was reported on Aug. 20.

The report describes the assault as “inappropriate touching” of the victim and notes that Crockett used his hand as a personal weapon, but does not provide further detail.

Crockett’s former employer, Miami Children’s Hospital, issued a written statement indicating that he no longer sees patients there.

“This physician is not currently employed by Miami Children’s Hospital,’’ said Jennifer Caminas, a spokeswoman. “His medical staff privileges were suspended pending the outcome of the investigation. The hospital is an advocate for children and takes this matter very seriously.”

Crockett had been employed at Miami Children’s since at least 1989, where he served as director of the hospital’s emergency department.

Star News Online, which covers the Wilmington, N.C., area, cited the Ocean Isle Beach police chief as saying that Crockett was in the area on vacation during that time, and that the incident with the boy was not prearranged.

Felony charges against Crockett include indecent liberties with a child, second-degree sexual offense and statutory rape. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 2.

According to Crockett’s physician license on file with the Florida Department of Health, he began practicing medicine in the state in 1982. Crockett’s online profile does not show any disciplinary actions against him in the past 10 years.

A graduate of the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, he also is licensed to practice medicine in that state.
