Missing Person Body of 14 Month Old Found in Creek

A 14-month-old boy who went missing in Columbus, Ohio, last week was found dead in a creek Wednesday morning.

The boy’s mother, Dainesha Stevens, of Maryland, is being held on $150,000 bond in Columbus on charges of endangering her children and tampering with evidence. She could face additional charges now that her son’s body has been found.

Stevens called Columbus police Monday and said her 6-year-old daughter was missing, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

Stevens told police she was visiting a friend in town and that her daughter disappeared Christmas Eve after Stevens left her with an acquaintance.

She did not mention her son, Cameron Beckford, until police met with her and questioned her story. She initially said she abandoned the toddler on a stranger’s porch because she was unable to care for him. Police say they suspect that story might have been a lie to cover up a possible homicide.

A dive crew found Cameron’s body in Big Walnut Creek.

Officers found Stevens’ daughter an hour after the woman first met with the police. The girl is now in the custody of Franklin County Children Services.

Court records say several days before Cameron disappeared, Stevens allowed an unidentified person to spank the little boy so harshly that the person “caused layers of skin to be removed from the child’s buttocks.”

The friend with whom Stevens stayed in Columbus, Kurt Flood, is being held on an unrelated misdemeanor charge and probation violation.

Missing Person Houston Toddler Found Safe

An Amber Alert for a 14-month-old Houston boy was cancelled after he was found safe in Arkansas, police said Tuesday.

The person of interest in the case, his father, was found dead nearby from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

Houston police said Tyemetheus Pack was reported missing early Tuesday morning after his mom was found dead at their northwest side apartment. Early on, police named Tumetheus Levastavian Pack, the boy’s father, a person of interest in the case.

Authorities asked the public to look out for Pack, who was said to possibly be in a green Suburban with Arkansas plates.

Apartment on Pinemont where a Houston mother was found.

Several hours after the Amber Alert was issued, Tumetheus Pack was found dead in a vehicle in Prescott, Arkansas. Authorities there said the 14-month-old boy was in the vehicle along with two other kids. Their relationships, if any, were not immediately known.

Tuesday’s manhunt started when authorities found the young boy’s mother, Angel Jackson, dead. Jackson was last heard from on Christmas Eve when she reportedly sent someone a text saying she had been shot. A maintenance man called Houston police to her apartment on Pinemont overnight for a welfare check.

Police have not confirmed how the mother died.

The child is currently the care of Child Protective Services.

A Madison Co. man is in jail, accused of following a woman down a Richmond Street and raping her.

The alleged incident happened on Fairview Street in Richmond at 5 a.m. Sunday morning, but the woman told police it initially started on Main Street near the YMCA.

The victim told police she was walking home down Main Street when Thomas Simmons tried making conversation. She said he then allegedly grabbed her by her hair, punched her and dragged her behind some apartments on Fairview Street. She says he then forced her to have sexual intercourse.

The police report says after the crime, Simmons simply walked away and left her alone in the rear of the apartment. Neighbors in the apartment complex told LEX 18 they hadn’t hear a thing about it until they saw it on the news.

Richmond Police arrested the 48-year-old Simmons at his house. Simmons allegedly told police the encounter happened at his home and that it was consensual.

Missing Person Toddler Missing in Columbus, OH

Police in Ohio are searching for a 14-month-old Frederick boy who they believe was abandoned by his mother in the Columbus area.

The boy, Cameron Beckford, was last known to be in the custody of his mother with his 6-year-old sister, said Columbus Police Department spokesman Sgt. Rich Weiner. Columbus police found the mother, and a man who was with her, after the children’s father called Frederick police earlier in the week to report his concerns about their absence.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“We took a missing persons report from the father on the 28th, two days ago,” said Lt. Clark Pennington, a Frederick police spokesman. “He believes [the mother] took them to Ohio and he was not getting satisfactory answers to his questions about their wellbeing.”

The 6-year-old, Cheyanne Beckford, was found at an undisclosed location in Columbus, but the boy remained missing Tuesday afternoon and the search effort continued, Weiner said.

“We have an active investigation looking for this missing 14-month-old that we believe may be in the area,” Weiner said from a search area near the Far East Community Recreation Center in Columbus. “Right now we’re talking to the mom and another male trying to get additional information as to where this child might be.”

The mother told the father and police that she abandoned Cameron on the front porch of an unknown residence in the far east area of Columbus, Weiner said. She earlier told the father she could no longer care for the child, according to a police press release.

According to the mother, she last saw Cameron around 8 p.m. Friday on the resident’s porch.

As of Tuesday, neither the mother nor anyone else was facing criminal charges in relation to the missing toddler, Weiner said.

“We’re just questioning them,” Weiner said of the mother and the man she was with. “We’re concentrating on finding this child right now.”

Cameron was described as black with black hair, cut in a mohawk style, and brown eyes, according to the Columbus police press release. He weighs approximately 23 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray elephant hat, a blue and white-striped long-sleeve shirt, gray pants, black and red Spider-Man boots and a black puffy jacket with a red interior fabric, the flyer states.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Cameron was asked to call the Columbus Police Department’s missing persons unit at 614-645-4624.

Missing Person Houston Toddler Found Alive in Arkansas

A frantic search for a missing 14-month-old Houston boy ended successfully in Arkansas Tuesday, after state police there pulled over a car carrying the boy in Nevada County.

The search for Tyemetheus Pack began hours earlier, after authorities earlier in the day discovered the body of Pack’s 26-year-old mother, Angel Jackson, in her northwest Houston apartment. She had last been seen on Christmas Eve, according to the Houston Police Department.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Police had believed the boy was with his 44-year-old father, Tumetheus Lestavian Pack, whom they said early on was considered a person of interest in Jackson’s death.

More than 300 miles away, Arkansas State Police spotted Pack in a car with his father, another woman, and two other children, the eldest of whom was five years old, according to Bill Sadler, the agency’s spokesman.

The woman and Pack were familiar with each other, but police were still piecing together the exact circumstances about how they ended up in the car with Pack as he was driving towards Little Rock, Sadler said.

State police pulled the car over as it was traveling eastbound on Interstate 30 at around 10:20 a.m. During the stop, Pack stepped out of the car and shot himself, Sadler said.

Pack died at the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope, Ark. Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the incident and working to piece together Pack’s trail out of Houston, Sadler said.

Police said investigators are trying to piece together what led to the disappearance of the boy and determine whether or not the woman and the other two children found in the car were related to Pack and his son.
