Pedophile Tracking Convicted Sex Offender Wins Lottery and Gets Sued by Victims

A convicted sex offender in Florida won a $3 million lottery prize – but two alleged victims want to put an end to his newfound fortune.

WPTV-TV reported that 43-year-old Timothy Poole is being sued, just weeks after winning big in Florida’s $3 million scratch off lottery.

Poole pleaded guilty to a 1999 charge of attempted sexual battery on a child younger than 12. The conviction involved a 9-year-old boy.

He spent 13 months in jail, but was freed after taking a plea bargain. Poole is currently serving 10 years on sex offender probation.

The alleged victims who are suing are brothers who said they were 5 and 9 years old at the time of the crime in 1996. Poole’s conviction involved a different 9-year-old.

The suit states that the boys were abused by Poole for more than a year. The damages listed in the suit include suffering from physical pain, post-traumatic stress disorder and severe depression.

The Florida Lottery announced Poole’s winning on Dec. 9 and Poole took the prize in a lump-sum payment of $2,219,807.90.

Attorneys representing the alleged victims said they want Poole’s winnings frozen until the suit is settled.

“We are not attempting to get him any additional prison time,” said Attorney Mark NeJame. “He has served his time to society, but he has not served his dues for the alleged massive damage caused to these children.”

Poole works as a taxi cab driver. Once the suit is served, he has 20 days to respond.

There are no laws that prevent sex offenders from playing the lottery.

Missing Person Body of 18 Year Old Cape Town Boy Found

The body of an 18-year-old boy was found during a search and rescue mission on Saturday at the Strand main beach, City of Cape Town said.

Vernon Naude was swept away by a rough rip current on Friday, while attempting to rescue his 13-year-old cousin, the city’s disaster management spokesman Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said.

“[While] a civilian was surfing at Strand Main Beach he discovered the person floating and fully clothed 300 metres from the area where the man was reported missing,” Solomons-Johannes said.

The search had resumed on Saturday, after an extensive air, sea and shore search on Friday, yielded no sign of the teen from Eerste River. A missing-persons case had been opened.

The city urged beachgoers to be cautious over the weekend, as rough sea conditions associated with rip currents were expected to prevail around the coast.

Private Detective: Mom and Daughter Arrested For Theft in Waynesboro, VA

Police arrested a mother and daughter Tuesday night in Waynesboro on theft and false identification charges, a press release stated.

The suspects were caught following a routine encounter inside the Wal-Mart on Lucy Lane.

The Waynesboro Police Department reported an officer was on foot patrol at the store shortly before 10 p.m. when he noticed Clarissa L. McKenzie, 51, reportedly trying to exit the store with a $70 air mattress. Seeing the officer, McKenzie tried using a second exit before being stopped. She was charged with petty theft, third offense, which is a felony.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

During her arrest, McKenzie indicated her daughter had already left the store. Police, knowing McKenzie has two daughters, one of them wanted by three different police agencies, checked the parking lot and found Erica C. McKenzie, 24, inside a vehicle.

Police said the younger McKenzie provided officers with her sister’s name, her birth date and Social Security number. A check of the information through the Virginia Department of Motor vehicles showed different identifying characteristics than those of the suspect. When told of the discrepancies, police said the daughter finally admitted she was Erica McKenzie.

Police said Erica McKenzie was wanted by Virginia State Police for two felony charges of forgery, along with single charges of identity theft and providing a law enforcement officer with a false ID, the latter two charges being misdemeanors. In Augusta County and Waynesboro, she was wanted for failing to appear in court.

Erica McKenzie is being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond. Her mother was given a $2,500 bond, police said.
