Wrongful Death Survivor of Trigg Co. Quadruple Shooting Tells His Story

One man survived the gunfire inside a Trigg County home that left his mom, dad, sister and another man dead over the weekend.

Police found Lindsey Champion, 62; his wife, 60-year-old Joy A. Champion; and the couple’s 31-year-old daughter, Emily K. Champion; along with 22-year-old Vito Y. Riservato, dead inside the Cadiz home Sunday.

Ryan Champion, 36, said he and his sister were visiting their parents and had just returned from church when Riservato showed up and started shooting. Ryan said he managed to shoot and kill the man who shot his family.

“I was able to turn the tables on him. He got…he got close enough to me to where I could turn the tables, and that was it. Every minute that the entire thing was going on, that’s all I was waiting for. I was waiting for an opportunity,” he said.

Ryan said police have asked him not to disclose all of the details surrounding the shooting. He did say that Riservato met the victims sometime last week.

A man has been indicted in an attempted armed robbery of a tobacco store in Laurel County.

Officials say as 35-year-old Shawn Stehlin of Lily ran away from the scene, he dropped a red baseball cap in the parking lot. DNA samples from that hat led police to Stehlin.

He is accused of trying to rob Wildcat Tobacco. Officials say he got scared off during the hold-up when other men came into the store.

Since his arrest for this attempted robbery, he’s also been serving a 15-year prison sentence in another robbery at different tobacco store.

Missing Person Paul Kitterman of Kremmling, CO

Authorities and family are searching for a Kremmling man who was reported missing from Sports Authority Field during the Broncos game on Thursday.

Paul Kitterman, 53, was last seen leaving his seat at halftime during Thursday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers, The Associated Press reported.

A friend of Kitterman’s who was at the game with him did not return a message seeking comment on Monday morning.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Denver police are treating Kitterman’s disappearance as a missing person case, but “right now we don’t have any indication that a crime was committed,” police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.

Jackson said on Monday that Denver police have asked officials at Sports Authority Field to review security tapes in the hopes of discovering any pertinent information on the case.

“They’ve been very helpful,” Jackson said.

Kitterman, who was at the game with his son, was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and Broncos ball cap.

Anyone with information on Kitterman’s whereabouts is asked to call Denver police at (720) 913-2000.

Private Detective: Former Frankfort Teacher Enters Guilty Plea

A Central Kentucky teacher accused of a sexual relationship with a student has entered a guilty plea.

Prosecutors tell the Frankfort State Journal that Carrie Staples Williams, a former English teacher at Franklin County High School, has entered a guilty plea to 2 felony charges. Investigators say the student was 17 years old at the time and ended up taking his own life this past spring.

That is when e-mails between he and Williams surfaced.

The plea allows Williams to avoid prison time, but she will have to surrender her license and avoid contact with students.

Prosecutors say the victim tried to notify authorities for several years without any charges being filed.

Missing Person Norma Jo Brown of Salt Lick Still Missing

It has been one month since anyone in Norma Jo Brown’s family has seen her or heard from her. For Brown’s mother, she says just thinking about her 33-year-old daughter anymore brings her to tears. Rumors circulating through the town are making the situation much worse for Sharon Brown.

“Everybody is telling me stuff and I won’t believe it,” says Brown.

One of those possibilities involves a man who is already behind bars on a murder charge. Police say it is possible Brown was last seen with 37-year-old Kevin Howard.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Howard was arrested just about a week after Brown was reported missing. He’s currently charged in the murder of Randall Russ, a college professor who went missing back in August.

“I hope he ain’t done nothing to her though you know, because she would have called home if she could,” says Brown.

Even though time has gone by, the Brown family is not giving up.

“She’s out there somewhere, she just can’t come home, “says Brown.

Howard declined to answer questions on Brown’s disappearance.

If you have any information about the case, call state police in Morehead.
