Wrongful Death Man Jailed for Death of Missing Idaho City Man

A long-running mystery surrounding the disappearance of an Idaho City man more than six years ago may be closer to a solution: The Boise County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that a suspect has been charged with the first-degree murder of Steven Kalogerakos.

Michael Stephen Dauber, who last year was mentioned publicly as a person of interest in the missing-person case, was arrested in Nampa Wednesday night and booked into the Canyon County jail on a Boise County hold, according to Canyon County records.

Boise County Sheriff Ben Roeber announced the murder charge Thursday afternoon, saying Dauber’s arrest “is the culmination of an investigation that has occurred over the past six years involving the Idaho City Police Department, Boise County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho State Police and the FBI.”

Roeber didn’t say whether Kalogerakos’ body had been found, and he said the county prosecutor has asked that no further information will be released in the case “in order to protect against any likelihood of materially prejudicing the prosecution of this case.”

Kalogerakos, then 42, was last seen on Christmas Day 2007, according to the Idaho State Police Missing Persons Clearinghouse. He was reported missing in January 2008, according to Thursday’s Boise County news release.

Pedophile Tracking Man Arrested After Sexually Abusing Child for Years

A man is behind bars after officials in Louisville say he sexually abused an 11-year-old girl for years.

Police say William Wallis admitted to the crime after they found photos and videos on his computer.

They say he paid the girl each time he would capture her on camera.

“He was paying the child monetarily or trip to McDonald’s or something along those lines,” said Sgt. Josh Meyers with the Shively Police Department.

The girl told police the abuse went on for years until she told someone what was happening last week.

Wallis is facing several charges including rape and sodomy.

Pedophile Tracking Englewood, Colorado Man Charged

A Colorado man has been charged with producing child pornography while repeatedly molesting a Red Bluff girl during visits to her Marjie Avenue home during a seven-year period.

The case broke when the girl, now a teenager, made the decision to disclose the sexual abuse when she learned the suspect, 61-year-old Mervin Edy Wolf, planned a visit to the area in June. It has been reported the alleged victim was also afraid Wolf would begin molesting her younger sibling.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Wolf, of Englewood, Colo., appeared before a U.S. Magistrate judge on March 6 and was charged with travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and production of child pornography. He was back in court on Tuesday for a detention and preliminary hearing.

Wolf, formerly of Red Bluff, moved to Colorado with his wife in 1999, but returned to the victim’s home up to three times a year to visit relatives, usually for a two-week period of time, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

It is reported the molestation began when the girl was around 7, and the child pornography of the molestation began about two year later.

The FBI said during each of those trips Wolf would force the girl to “perform and participate in an escalating patter of sexual acts which Wolf would photograph or video tape.”

During several of these occurrences, Wolf’s wife and relatives would be in the home, reportedly unaware of what was happening.

In January 2013, the girl telephoned Wolf stating she was afraid she was pregnant from Wolf’s sexual abuse.

“Wolf told the minor child he would pay for an abortion if she was in fact pregnant by Wolf,” reported the FBI. “Wolf mailed two home pregnancy tests to the minor child. She took the tests and learned she was not pregnant.”

When the girl’s family learned of the abuse, other family members came forward to report abuse by Wolf.

On March 5, minutes before a federal search warrant was executed at Wolf’s Englewood residence, the Red Bluff victim called Wolf on a cellphone, at the direction Tehama County Sheriff’s Office which recorded the call, at which time Wolf confirmed the sexual relationship between him and the victim, reported the FBI.

Wolf also confirmed the production of pictures and videos of the sex acts with the girl. However, he told the girl the pictures had been destroyed and no one would find them.

During the search of Wolf’s home, FBI agents said they seized a 8mm video camera, a digital camera, a camera tripod, and a laptop, among other items. Electronic media are currently undergoing forensic examination.

The FBI learned during the investigation Wolf and his wife were foster parents in 2003, and two of the foster children, both girls under the age of 7, had been sexually abuse by Wolf. No charges were filed in those cases, but due to the allegations, the Wolfs’ Colorado foster care license was revoked.

“As this case demonstrates, our society will not tolerate sexual abuse of children,” U.S. Attorney John Walsh stated. “In this case, the defendant not only traveled across state lines to sexually exploit a minor child, he also documented that horrible behavior using video recording devices. Prosecuting cases such as this are a priority to protect innocent victims.”

If convicted of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, Wolf faces not less than 30 years and up to life in federal prison, as well as up to a $250,000 fine. If convicted of production of child pornography, Wolf faces not less than 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison, as well as up to a $250,000 fine.

“The FBI and our partners will continue to vigorously investigate all allegations of conduct that exploits and jeopardizes the well-being of our children,” said FBI Denver Special Agent in Charge Thomas Ravenelle. “We encourage anyone who suspects this type of activity to immediately report their information to law enforcement.”

This FBI and the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone who may have formation about this case to contact the Denver FBI office at 303-629-7171.

Private Detective Grandmother Busted for Pill Business

Police in Montgomery County say dozens of visitors have been going to a grandmother’s house, but not for Sunday dinners.

Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies and Mt. Sterling police say Nancy Davis was the go-to grandma for pills.

“Primarily Oxycodone 30, prescription drugs, also some Zanax,” said.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Police say the Jeffersonville resident had a pretty lucrative “business” going the past year.

“Based on her own admission, we’re looking at as much as $180-200,000 worth of volume a year,” said.

And detectives say they think that’s on the low side.

Authorities say children, possibly her own grandchildren, were sometimes at the house, like the day police came knocking on her door to bust her for trafficking.

“We believe she was pretty significant. We’ve had complaints as well as the Mt. Sterling police separate from us. She was pretty big in the community,” said.

Davis is charged with trafficking first offense, but police say that will change since they later realized she was on probation for doing the same thing before.

Missing Person 13 Month Old Summit County, UT Girl

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI were looking Wednesday for a man who they say abducted his 13-month-old daughter in a domestic dispute.

Scott Aimar, 31, has a history with law enforcement and the Division of Child and Family Services and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, according to Heber City police officer Salvador Segura.

Aimar took his child, Coraline, for a weekend visit on Saturday. Aimar was staying at a motel on Main Street in Heber City and was supposed to return Coraline to her mother, Stephanie Hurst, on Monday, Segura said. But on Monday morning, the mother received a text from Aimar saying he was going to do what was in the “best interest” of him and his daughter and was not going to return her, he said.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Hurst contacted police who issued an endangered missing person alert. Motel employees told investigators that Aimar left on Saturday.

Hurst filed for a protective order in 4th District Court that would prevent Aimar from taking their child out of state, Segura said. She also filed for a protective order against Aimar in September, according to court records.

Because Aimar does not have any friends or family in Utah, investigators believe he has left the state. Segura said Aimar does have friends in other states but did not say Wednesday which states.

Hurst has not had any other contact with Aimar since Monday. Detectives were attempting Wednesday to track him by looking for credit card purchases or phone usage, but they had not found anything as of Wednesday morning.

Segura said Aimar did not own a car. The sheriff’s office was trying to determine Wednesday if a taxi picked him up, if he got a ride from someone, or if he bought a bus ticket.

Utah state court records show Aimar has several misdemeanor convictions since 2006.

Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s office at 435-654-1411.
