Private Detective Composite Sketch Released of Rape Suspect in Hardin County

Police are looking for a person of interest in the reported rape of a 17-year-old girl in Hardin County earlier this month.

WAVE3 News in Louisville reports Radcliff Police released a composite sketch of the suspect. He is described as a black man in his 20s with a thin build, goatee, shoulder-length dreadlocks and a tattoo on his right hand.

Police said the crime is believed to have happened on Feb. 7.

Police said the man was wearing a black jacket, sagging blue jeans, a gray knit cap, rubber-looking bracelets on his right wrist, a rubber band on his left wrist, a wedding band on his left hand, and black and white Giffey tennis shoes. He was driving a dark color SUV with tinted windows, according to police. The victim also told police she saw a small semi-automatic pistol and two booster seats in the SUV.

Anyone with information about the case or the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call the Radcliff Police.

Pedophile Tracking Kansas Man Gets Life in Prison

A 63-year-old Wichita man with a history of sex crimes against children has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for his latest conviction.

The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office announced Monday that Kenneth Boysaw was found guilty of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. He was accused of fondling a 6-year-old girl in a Wichita home last April.

The Wichita Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/1foCM0e ) that Boysaw was previously convicted of attempted indecent liberties with a child in November 1979 in Topeka. He was later convicted of sexual assault of a child in February 1987 in Lincoln, Neb.

Drug Dog Sweep 74 lbs of Marijuana Seized in Nebraska

Two people have been arrested and 74 pounds of marijuana seized during a traffic stop on I-80.

The Nebraska State Patrol reports a trooper stopped a mini-van for speeding and failure to maintain its lane on I-80 near the North Platte exit. A drug dog from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office was brought to the van and a search of the vehicle uncovered the marijuana located in an external luggage rack on top of the mini-van.

The driver of the minivan, 36-year-old Jared Case of St. Petersburg, FL and a female passenger in the vehicle, 30-year-old Izula Maximillen of Arcata, CA have been charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell it as well as child endangerment.

A two-year-old boy traveling with the couple has been placed in protective custody with the state.

Missing Person Johnnie Carr Jr. Of Tallahassee

The Tallahassee Police Department Special Victims Unit is seeking the whereabouts of 38 year old Johnnie Carr.

Johnnie is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was last seen on 2/20/14, headed to the Circle K in the 2800 block of Apalachee Pkwy.

Johnnie’s family is concerned for his welfare.

Wrongful Death Woman Sentenced in Crash That Killed Teen

A woman has been sentenced in connection to a Woodford County crash that killed a Lexington teenager in January of 2013.

According to jail records, Bethany Gunter was sentenced on DUI and manslaughter second degree charges for the crash that killed 18-year-old Ambrielle Brown.

The crash happened on Dry Ridge Road near the Fayette County line.

Police say Gunter, who was 17 at the time, lost control of the car and tried to over-corrected, but hit a tree.

Another 17-year-old passenger was airlifted from the scene with life-threatening injuries. Sunday Moore, 18, and Gunter were taken to UK Hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.

At the time of the accident, police said they did not believe drugs or alcohol appeared to have played a role.

Arson Investigation Nicholas County Nursing Home

Officials say a fire inside a Nicholas County nursing home over the weekend was set on purpose.

The fire happened late Saturday night inside the Johnson Mathers Nursing Home. According to the Carlisle Courier, investigators say somebody stuffed paper towels in a trash bag, put it above ceiling tiles in an unoccupied room and set it on fire.

Firefighters quickly responded and put out the fire. There were no reported injuries.

Kentucky State Police continue to investigate.

Missing Person Kelly West of Roseville, Michigan

Roseville police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 30-year-old mother who was reported missing by her husband earlier Monday.

Kelly West may be suffering from postpartum depression after delivering their youngest child about five months ago, Deputy Police Chief Donald Glandon said in a news release.

Her husband, James, told officers that she walked away from their house on the 27000 block of Academy, located near Interstate 696 west of Gratiot Avenue, between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Monday and has not been seen since. Police have checked with her family and friends but none have been contacted by her.

She left on foot and does not have access to a vehicle, according to the release.

Kelly West is about 5-foot-3, 120 pounds with brown eyes and long brown hair. She may be wearing a lightweight black coat, brown “bell bottom”-type pants and black boots. She has been entered as a missing person in the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN).

Private Detective Clothing Found as Possible Burial Site

Clothing has been found at a site being excavated in Hardin County after reports of a possible burial site.

Crews have been digging along East Railroad Avenue in Elizabethtown after receiving a tip that a body was buried in the area.

A woman says her stepfather, Larry Sherrard, wrote a letter on his deathbed leading police to the property where he once lived.

No word if the clothing found has anything to do with the case.

Identity Theft Man With Lexington Ties Wanted in Cincinnati

Police are looking for a man with Lexington ties wanted in Cincinnati on several charges.

Investigators say Shawn Bumpase went to Cincinnati and used stolen credit card information to pay for rooms at the Garfield Suites Hotel totaling $6,000.

Police say Bumpase is also wanted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for fraud.

He has been indicted in Cincinnati for theft, forgery, three counts of telecommunication fraud, two counts of misuse of credit card, and two counts of identity fraud.

Shawn Bumpase is 36, 5’10” tall, and weighs 164 lbs. He was last known to live in the Lexington area.

Officers say Shawn has family living in the Lexington area.

Drug Dog Sweep Heroin and Meth Found in Sherwood, Oregon

A traffic stop led to drug charges the night Friday, Feb. 21 after a Sherwood Police officer and a police dog found 99 grams of heroin, 2 grams of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun in a 1992 white Cadillac.

The car’s driver, 54-year-old Loren Dean Dowdy, was charged with possessing, manufacturing and distributing heroin; possessing methamphetamine; possessing a gun as a felon; and driving with a suspended license.

The passenger, 22-year-old Chelsea Lee Dennis, was charged with possessing, manufacturing and distributing heroin; possessing methamphetamine; and unlawful possession of a gun.

The drugs were found on the suspects and in the car, according to a press release, and Sherwood Police dog helped find drugs hidden in the car. The gun was found under the passenger seat.

The suspects are not from the area and told police they have been living in a Portland area hotel. They ended up in Sherwood after taking a wrong turn, they said.

Dowdy and Dennis were taken into custody after the 11:13 p.m. traffic stop.
