Private Detective Sister Shot Sister in Head Over Facebook

A family feud fueled by Facebook. That’s what the Mason County Sheriff says lead to one sister shooting another sister.

“All initial information we have it’s in reference to a social media argument between these two,” said Sheriff Patrick Boggs.

Sheriff Boggs says when officers responded to Walton Pike in Dover shortly before noon Wednesday they found 24 year old Arica Woodruff who had been shot in the head. She was taken to Meadowview Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to UK Hospital. Officers arrested her half sister, 28 year old Ankara Alvarado, who is now charged with attempted murder.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Rodney Woodruff lives next to the camper where Alvarado lives and where the shooting took place. He says Arica Woodruff used to be married to one of his relatives. Rodney says he heard the shots from his home and says he can’t believe an argument online could end up like this.

“That’s what’s wrong with this world right now is Facebook. Everybody knows your business on there. you put anything on Facebook everybody knows it,” said Woodruff.

Investigators say they aren’t sure what the sisters were arguing about on Facebook or why it took a violent turn.

Arica Woodruff is listed in critical condition at UK Hospital. Her sister is currently in the Mason County Detention Center and is expected to appear in court on October 14th.

Missing Person Body of Hillsboro, Oregon Man Found

Ryan Ross Horn, the Hillsboro man missing since late August, was found dead Tuesday, Oct. 8, along a remote road in northwestern Washington County, police say.

His body was discovered in a grassy area about 60 yards from his Ford Ranger pickup, which was parked off an old logging road with a turnaround about a mile from Oregon 47, said Lt. Mike Rouches, a Hillsboro Police spokesman. His cause of death is undetermined, pending an autopsy by the state medical examiner.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

A handgun was found near his body, Rouches said. The death, he said, is not considered suspicious.

Rouches said the area where Horn was found is heavily wooded and near a creek. The closest intersection is Oregon 47 and Northwest Nowakowski Road.

Washington County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, after a person observed a pickup parked off the logging road, which is north and west of Buxton and U.S. 26, Rouches said. The caller did not record the license plate on the vehicle or its exact location. But the caller remembered once seeing a flier that said to call police if Horn’s maroon pickup truck was spotted.

A sheriff’s deputy responded, Rouches said, and arrived about 11:50 a.m. The deputy found that Horn’s truck had been broken into, his stereo stolen. Authorities later found Horn’s body. Investigators do not suspect foul play in his death.

Horn, 28, was last seen Aug. 29 by his mother, Michele Haynes, as he was leaving the Hillsboro home they’ve shared since his divorce this summer. He left his wallet behind but had his cellphone, police said, and was believed to be carrying a handgun.

Horn, an inspector at the biotech firm Genentech in Hillsboro, was being treated for bipolar disease, his mother has said.

After leaving the house, Horn sent text messages to several people, Haynes said during an interview last month. Police were able to use cell towers to place Horn about two miles outside of Banks early the morning he left. Police searched western areas of the county by aircraft, but found no sign of Horn’s 2002 maroon truck.

Teams of volunteers have conducted sweeps from Banks to the coast, focusing on pullouts or along tree lines, and have peppered the region with fliers.

The family created a Facebook page, Missing PERSON-Ryan Horn, where they have shared updates and photographs for several weeks. Nearly 2,300 people have “liked” the page.

Identity Theft 2 Arrested in Maricopa County, AZ

Authorities say two people have been arrested for fraud after an Arizona sheriff’s captain noticed an erroneous charge on his credit card that had been used to pay for someone else’s traffic fine.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation began last month after one of its captains noticed the charges.

Authorities say both suspects are accused of stealing the credit card information of victims through their place of employment, a medical billing firm which services a Scottsdale dermatology office.

Sheriff’s detectives say the pair had been using the stolen credit card information to pay for personal expenses ranging from pizzas to tires and rims for their cars.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio says at least four victims have been identified, but authorities suspect there are more.

Arson Investigation Apartment Fire on Versailles Road

Fire investigators say the blaze in an apartment building along Versailles Road Wednesday morning was the result of arson.

Crews responded to the 12 unit apartment building on Versailles Road just after 7 a.m. A resident spotted the flames in an upstairs utility room, grabbed a fire extinguisher and put out the blaze. Firefighters say a flaming pillow started the fire. It was contained to a closet, but there was some smoke damage upstairs.

Residents say they suspect a homeless person started the fire. They say the front entrance does not have locks and “the riff raff” frequently sneak in to sleep in the hallways at night.

“Our department takes this incident very seriously, as the fire was set in an occupied building and could have resulted in a loss of lives,” Lexington Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Best said.

Officials say 12 residents will be displaced if crews can’t get electrical service restored to the building.

Anyone with information in this case should contact the Lexington Fire Department at either 859-231-5672 or at arsontips@lexingtonky.gov . Tips may be given anonymously.

Missing Person Body Found in Stairwell of San Francisco Hospital

There appears to be a sad and disturbing end to a missing person case out of San Francisco.

A woman’s body was found on an exterior stairwell at SF General Hospital Tuesday morning, the hospital confirms, and it is believed to be a 57-year-old woman who had been missing since late last month.

Lynne Spalding was thought to have walked away from the hospital on September 21.  She was last seen by hospital personnel at about 10:15 a.m. that day.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

David Perry, a spokesperson for Spalding’s family, says the hospital told them that a body of a woman was found in a stairwell that is not normally used.

Perry said the body has not been identified, but all signs indicate that it is Spalding.

“SF General has a stellar reputation,” Perry said. “However, if someone’s body was found in the stairwell, whether it’s Lynne Spalding or not that’s a very concerning development.”

Perry also noted that it took 10 day for the hospital to issue a statement about the fact that a patient had gone missing.

“We do not know the identity of this person and have no further information at this time,” the hospital said in a statement. “We are cooperating with the investigation and will provide another update as information develops.”

Spalding was at the hospital getting treatment for a severe urinary infection. Nurses, who were checking on her every 15 minutes, said she suddenly disappeared.

Her friends and family have spent countless hours searching for her, putting up fliers and sharing Spalding’s story on social media.

The family’s hope that she would be found alive diminished Tuesday when a nurse happened to use the lightly used stairwell.

Spalding worked in hospitality sales for the past several years after growing up in Great Britain, her family said.

The San Francisco Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from the San Francisco Police Department, according to SF General.

Wrongful Death Family Hopes For an Arrest Soon After 15 Years

Tuesday marked 15 years since a Southern Kentucky teenager was viciously murdered. Krystal Marler has been gone now for as many years as she lived.

On Tuesday loved one’s in McCreary County gathered to remember and keep the search for Krystal’s killer alive.

Year after year the day comes and goes, bringing tears, sad memories, and longing for closure. “I love you granddaughter, I miss you everyday,” said Krystal’s grandmother, Sue Marler.

“We have got to remember her, not let anybody else forget her,” said Krystal’s brother’s grandmother, Lorella Wood.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Exactly 15 years after 15 year old Krystal Marler went missing from Whitley City, the community came together to do just that. Dozen’s of people went to the McCreary County Park with candles lit in Krystal’s honor. It was a touching symbol of strength, but still the anniversary was hard for family to face.

“Just want to know what happened so many years ago,” Said wood.

The family spent more than a decade of sleepless nights wondering where Krystal was. Finally, four years ago her remains were found in a remote area of the county. Krystal had been brutally beaten and shot.

“Who did it and why? Why would they treat anybody like that?” said wood. With no arrests, the family refuses to let Krystal’s case turn cold.

“They need to be punished, they don’t need to be running the streets free, they took a beautiful life and destroyed it,” said Marler. It was the life of a girl loved and missed so dearly, by a community who’s hearts hold a glimmer of hope. “Take one day at a time, and hope that maybe tomorrow will be a day we maybe find out something,” said Marler.

Krystal’s mother died in a car crash before her daughter’s body was found. Her remaining family wants this memorial to remind the community to come forward with any information that could help solve this case.
