Missing Person Bones Found in KY Are Del. Woman

Authorities in Kentucky have positively identified the bones found last week in a storage unit as those of a missing Delaware woman.

Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley said today that the remains were those of Doris Wood, who disappeared from her Brookside home east of Newark in July, 1997. She was 42 years old at the time.

The bones were discovered Thursday night stuffed in three bags in a storage unit in Corbin once owned by Wood’s late husband Robert. They were found by Steven Terry, who purchased the contents of the unit at Pier Mobile Storage at auction for $170.

Kentucky authorities used information gleaned from the National Missing and Unidentified Person System database to confirm Wood’s identity, which was made through the use of dental records.

Included in the information sent to NamUs by the Delaware Medical Examiner’s Office were photos of the missing woman, X-rays and dental records, said Hal Brown, deputy director of the state Medical Examiner’s Office.

Croley said the cause of death has not yet been determined nor has the manner been ruled a homicide at this point. The death remains under investigation.

New Castle County police spokesman Cpl. John Weglarz said today that Wood was reported missing on July 28, 1997, by her husband Robert, who told police that she left home to meet her sister but never arrived.

With the identification of Wood’s remains, the missing person case is closed, Weglarz said.

Robert Wood died in Huntsville, Ala., in May.

Pedophile Tracking Man Took Wife and Daughter to Meet 14 Year Old

A 64-year-old Florida man was arrested Friday after bringing his family to meet a 14-year-old girl he’d be grooming for months to join them in group sex.

Cliff Oshman, of Daytona Beach, went to a local grocery store to meet the young girl, wife and young daughter in tow, only to find out ‘she’ was an undercover cop – the depraved man was arrested and charged with multiple offenses.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Mr Oshman initially made contact with the undercover officer through an ad placed online looking for someone willing to have sex with his family. He and the police officer chatted for seven months before agreeing to meet, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

The perverse patriarch’s original online ad ‘was looking for someone to add to his cozy family and that the age of the person did not matter,’ said an arrest report reviewed by MailOnline.

An undercover cop responded, posing as a 14-year-old girl, and was subjected to chats from March until this week about Mr Oshman’s desire to have a sexual relationship with a young girl, according to the arrest report.

Even worse, his family was in on the scheme.

‘The wife and daughter were given a ride to the police department and during that ride [his wife] told detectives that the defendant and she were supposed to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex,’ the arrest report said.

Reading like a chat log from NBC’s ‘Dateline: To Catch a Predator’ television series, the deranged man wrote about his impulses and fantasies, but also expressed concern over being caught.

The accused pedophile wrote in emails to the undercover officer about fantasizing that while with his wife, he was really having sex with the young girl, according to the arrest report.

The man wrote of want to taste and see the young girl unclothed, about various sex acts he wanted to perform on her and sent several pictures of his genitalia to the officer, the arrest report said, detailing the explicit, profane emails.

Mr Oshman then discussed via email how sleeping with the young girl without being arrested might work.

‘If you get caught with me, they arrest me… when people discover we are lovers, and find out your age, there will certainly be a scandal,’ Mr Oshman said, according to the arrest report.

‘We need to make a plan to handle it OK … I sincerely would love you to be in my life,’ he continued.

Mr Oshman faces a litany of felony charges for his actions including using a computer to solicit a child for sex, traveling to solicit a child for sex, two counts of transmitting images harmful to a child and using a two-way communication device to commit a felony.

Mr Oshman does not appear to have a prior criminal history, according to records. It also is not clear if Mr Oshman’s wife faces any charges for aiding and abetting his plans.

Private Detective Somerset Man Arrested For Plotting Murder and Kidnapping

Deputies arrested a Pulaski County man who they say planned to kidnap a 16-year-old girl and then kill her parents.

A grand jury indicted 20-year-old Steven Matthew Perry on charges of kidnapping and attempted murder. Detectives say they found a list of steps Perry would take as well as a list of items to carry out the plan.

For months, Perry lived with Jennifer Neeley and her family in Somerset. Neeley says Perry lived in her brother’s car outside their home. She also says Perry was homeless and did odd chores around the house to earn money. She ultimately turned him into authorities when she become concerned about his alleged plan, that she says he named “Charlie One.”

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“I felt like he was really serious about it, and I didn’t want anyone to get hurt. So, I took his folder to the sheriff’s department to see what they thought we needed to do,” said Neeley.

Deputies say the 20-year-old outlined his plan to kidnap a 16-year-old girl he met on Facebook and “neutralize” her parents in the process. He allegedly made a list, naming things he needed in order to carry out his plan. Neeley says Perry even put the mission on the calendar. During a search of his home, Pulaski County investigators found items on his list, including a tent, sleeping bags and camouflage clothing.

Perry’s now in the Pulaski County Detention Center. Neeley says she just wanted to get Perry help, and feels she made the right decision.

“I mean I made sure my family was safe and also the family of the girlfriend because I wasn’t sure she was aware of what he was going to do, or the extremes he was going to go to,” said Neeley.

Because of the nature of this incident, the sheriff’s office is not providing the identity of the girl or her family.

Insurance Fraud Jacksonville, FL Man Convicted

A man has been convicted in a Jacksonville insurance fraud scheme case that involved more than 30 people, some of which have prosecutions pending.

David Rodriguez Lopez, 46, was convicted by a jury Friday for schemes to defraud over $50,000, false insurance claims over $100,000 and knowingly participating in an intentional motor vehicle crash.

According to a State Attorney’s Office press release, the investigation revealed that Lopez was the behind-the-scenes owner of Indian Rehabilitation Center, Inc. The licensed massage therapy clinic operated at 3636 University Boulevard in Jacksonville from March 2012 through October 2012.

http://liarcatchers.com/insurance_fraud.html

Lopez’s alleged henchmen recruited individuals to stage the accidents and then get treatment at the clinic. The release said the clinic would provide bogus treatment to staged accident participants for non-existent injuries. The clinic billed insurance companies in excess of $228,000.00.

On March 14, 2012, Lopez and four others were involved in a staged accident in Duval County. Lopez later filed a Personal Injury Protection claim through IRCI.

The clinic billed insurance companies in excess of $228,000 and the clinic received $35,000 for treatment provided to Lopez and the other vehicle occupants.

The release detailed that Lopez also arranged for a straw owner of the clinic, directed how to operate the clinic fraudulently, controlled IRCI’s bank accounts and directed others as to which insurance companies to target.

In October 2012, the State Attorney’s Office and Florida’s Division of Insurance Fraud shut down the clinic and obtained an arrest warrant for Lopez. Investigators found Lopez hiding at a remote fish farm outside of Tampa after searching for him for almost six months.

Lopez faces 45 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced November 22.

Missing Person Search to Resume for Man Missing Since 1986

Detectives have suspended the search for a man who went missing nearly 30 years ago, due to bad weather.

On Thursday, dive crews found 26-year-old Terrance Beghin’s Corvette submerged in a canal in the Deep Creek area, near the eastern end of Rampart Boulevard at Navigator Road. There was no sign of Beghin inside the car.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

He went missing back in 1986 while on his way to pick up his roommate. Detectives believe foul play could have played a role in his disappearance.

Detectives hoped to continue the search on Monday, but called off the search due to rains. They still plan to try searching the area of the opposite bank when weather improves.
