Pedophile Tracking Omaha Man Gets 40-60 Years

A 37-year-old Omaha man was sentenced Monday to 40 to 60 years in prison for raping two girls who say his cologne gave him away.

Clintus Alford was convicted in July on two counts of sexual assault of a child.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Authorities say Alford had blindfolded the girls in separate incidents last summer, took them to Omaha hotel rooms and told them they had to have sex with other men for money. The girls told investigators they were acquainted with Alford and recognized his cologne when he raped them.

Wrongful Death Additional Info on Mother Who Left Baby in Trashcan

A Louisville woman is out of jail on her own recognizance after pleading not guilty to charges she left her baby girl in a department store trashcan to die.

Jessica Price says she learned she was pregnant only one month before giving birth and that when she delivered her daughter, she thought she’d miscarried.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

LEX18 News has obtained a copy of the police interrogation of Jessica Price following her arrest on August 8th.

Price admitted throwing her newborn daughter away after giving birth while at work at a Kohl’s in Louisville.

“I picked it up and it wasn’t moving, it wasn’t breathing, and the umbilical cord had already separated and I panicked, I got scared,” she said.

Price says she then tried to clean the baby off with paper towels.

“And what did you do next?” the detective asked.

“I got the trash bag and I put it in there,” Price responded.

During the nearly three-hour interview, Price admitted to knowing she was pregnant after feeling the baby kick, but that she showed similar symptoms to a miscarriage she’d experienced in the past.

“I found out about a month ago; I had my period the entire time,” she said. “I have had a miscarriage before and it did the same thing, I just was home at the time when I lost the baby last time,” she said.

Price says she could not come up with an answer as to why she did not seek medical attention.

Price says she stood there in the stall for two to four minutes holding her daughter, but that the newborn didn’t move or make a sound.

Before wrapping the interview and allowing Price to be taken to the hospital to be examined, the detective asked price two final questions: one – did she wish to name her daughter, currently being called “Baby Girl Price.”

“I don’t, I guess. Just… can I change my mind later? Or does it have to have a name now?” Price said.

And two – did Price think she’d done anything wrong.

“I have to have done something wrong to lose the baby, didn’t I? Why did I put it…”

Price stopped short of completing that sentence and saying… in the trash.

Right now, Price is out of jail on her own recognizance until her trial.

Missing Person Body of Johnson County Woman Found in Knott County

The search group looking for a missing Johnson County woman say they found her body in Knott County Wednesday. Kentucky State Police aren’t releasing an identity just yet, but Christina Barnett’s family says they stumbled upon her remains.

Since Wednesday, people in Knott County have been searching for 34-year-old Christina Barnett, but no one has looked more than her own family.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“They were out here searching yesterday,” said Brandon Muncy.

Neighbors who live in the area helped the family in the search, they say.

“I tried to help them all I could,” said Freddie Messer.

Freddie Messer was the last to see Barnett a week ago at a gas station. Family say Barnett was in a truck headed to London with a man she met online. After she disappeared, Messer told her sister all he knew.

“The lady got out of the vehicle, walked around to the rear of the truck, stood there for 2 or 3 seconds, turns around and gets back in,” he said. “She didn’t act distraught or upset, or crying or anything like that.”

It was only a few miles away that Barnett’s sister and a friend say they found her body around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. They say she was at the bottom of the hill off Highway 80 and was badly burned.

“More than likely, once they pulled out of here it happened between the store and there,” Messer said.

Troopers say the body had been there for a few days, but won’t say how she was killed or if it’s in fact Barnett. Still, for most people, the family’s word is enough.

“Thank God they found her and now they can probably put somebody to justice,” Muncy said.

“That would be horrible to come up on your sister,” Messer said. “I hope the family gets justice.”

The woman’s body is now in Frankfort and an autopsy is expected within the next few days. Until then, this will remain a death investigation, and Christina Barnett will still be listed as a missing person.

Identity Theft Two New Jersey Woman Admit to Role in $2m Scheme

Two North Jersey women on Monday admitted to their roles in a “sophisticated” identity theft scheme that scammed banks and credit card companies out of more than $2 million, federal prosecutors said.

Rita S. Kim, 49, of Fort Lee, and Hyon-Suk Chung, 50, of North Bergen, each pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud charges before U.S. District Judge Katharine S. Hayden, U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman announced in a statement.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

The pair conspired with with Sang-Hyun Park, who obtained social security cards beginning with the prefix “586,” according to prosecutors. The cards were issued by the United States to Chinese immigrants who were working in American territories, including Guam.

“The individuals from China who were issued these Social Security numbers never established credit files or scores in the United States – these Chinese identities were essentially blank slates with no corresponding credit files or scores,” the statement said. “Kim and Chung engaged in the fraudulent build-up of credit scores associated with these Chinese identities by adding them as authorized users to their credit card accounts in exchange for a fee from Park and his associates.”

Kim and Chung boosted their credit scores using the Chinese identities to between 700 and 800, and admitted they used about 100 identities, according to prosecutors.

The two face a maximum five year prison term and forfeiture of more than $2 million at sentencing Jan. 8, 2014. Park, the convicted ringleader, pleaded guilty last year and is also awaiting sentencing. Federal agents nabbed the three and more than 50 others in September 2010.
