Private Investigator Lexington Police Search for Peeping Tom

Lexington police need the public’s help finding a Peeping Tom spotted at the Fayette Mall.

LEX 18 broke the story Monday after a man was seen recording two teenage girls changing clothes in a Forever 21 fitting room on Sunday.

On Tuesday, LEX 18 News got the surveillance pictures of the man after the crime. The man allegedly went into a dressing room next to 13 and 14 year old girls, then put his cell phone on his shoes on the ground and pressed record.

Fortunately, the girls noticed what was happening and snapped a picture of the crime. The girls quickly told the store about the man. Despite employee efforts to keep the guy from leaving, he was able to walk out of the mall.

On Tuesday, shoppers at the mall saw the picture, but most thought the man blended in and looked average.

Now people like Kaitlyn Forsyth are on the lookout, and taking more precautions. “It makes me think I need to be more aware, more observant to what’s going on around me,” she said. “So, maybe pay more attention myself just in case since they haven’t caught him yet,” said Forsyth.

The suspect is a slender man around six feet tall, with brown hair and long sideburns. He was last seen wearing a black Harley Davidson T-shirt, blue jeans, and all white tennis shoes.

Identity Theft Detective’s Computer Stolen in Seattle

Thousands of people are now vulnerable to identity theft, and it’s all because of a stolen laptop.

The information, which includes Social Security and drivers license numbers, was on a King County sheriff’s office computer that was stolen from a detective.

The laptop and a personal hard drive were full of case files, including personal information about thousands of crime victims, suspects, witnesses and even police officers.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

The laptop was stolen last March from the backseat of a detective’s undercover pickup truck.

To say Christie Diemond was outraged when she got a letter in the mail last Friday would be beyond an understatement.

“One of our detective’s laptop computers was stolen from her vehicle,” Diemond read from the letter.

The letter goes on to say that the Social Security and drivers license number of both Diemond and her deceased mother could have been compromised and they could be victims of identity theft.

“Nobody could be more shocked than I was that the King County police had lost a laptop with all my personal information,” Diemond said.

The sheriff’s office confirms the laptop was stolen from the truck. Officials says the detective didn’t follow KCSO policy and could face discipline.

“I feel awful for them that this happened, but there was no malicious intent,” said Det. Sgt. Katie Larson with the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office is legally required to notify victims about the security breach, and last week they sent out 2,300 letters to everyone who may now be vulnerable.

Larson said it took this long to send the letters because they had to figure out who they needed to notify.

“It’s not something you can just press a button and it all pops up for you,” she said. “Somebody had to go through and read everything and cull out all of that information.”

But Diemond said waiting three months to notify her gave potential identity thieves a head start on using her information.

“I went through the roof,” she said. “I can’t even believe they waited that long to tell people that. It’s outrageous — it’s worse than outrageous.”

The sheriff’s office said this was not the first data loss they’ve had, but it was the largest.

They were already in the process of adding encryption software to all of their computers when the theft happened. Sixty percent of the computers were finished, but the stolen computer was not one of them.

A man who pleaded guilty in a child sex trafficking case has been scheduled for sentencing Sept. 26 in federal court in Jackson.

They were charged in U.S. District Court in Jackson on one count each of child sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and one count each of selling or buying of children.

Hodges pleaded guilty June 20. He faces up to life in prison.

Rogers has pleaded not guilty. His trial is set for Sept. 9.

Pedophile Tracking Mayer, AZ Woman Faces Charges

A Mayer man’s suicide last month after he was accused of child sexual abuse has led to the arrest of his wife on child sex charges and failure to report her husband’s offenses, according court documents.

Laura Beth Peters, 28, was indicted on charges including two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, sexual abuse, and failure to report the neglect of a minor. She was arrested when her husband, Nathan Peters, 38, committed suicide in May after a female victim, 16, reported to police that he had had sexual contact with her about four years ago, a police probable cause statement said.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Laura told police that she and her husband were nudists, and that, in late 2008 or early 2009, Nathan had fondled the female victim, and she had done the same with an 11-year-old boy, the statement said.

While in Flagstaff in May, the female victim told him that she had made a statement to police about the abuse. Nathan committed suicide on May 11.

Laura said she had sexual contact with the boy, but had stopped because they “decided this was wrong,” the statement said.

In court Monday, her attorney, Allen Bickart, entered a plea of not guilty.

He noted that the state had made no plea agreement offer yet, “And I don’t expect there will be one,” he added.

Laura Peters next appears in court Aug. 5. She’s being held without bond.
