The Harrison County sheriff says whoever broke into the home got away with cash and a pistol, but left behind several bullets.

Police cut siding to retrieve a bullet logged into the wall to take in for evidence. They hope it will lead them to whoever was inside the home.

The homeowner was not hit by the gunfire.

A neighbor who has lived right next door for 40 years says nothing like this has ever happened in the neighborhood and hopes whoever did it gets caught.

The homeowner’s wife and daughter were not home at the time.

If you have any information you are urged to contact the sheriff’s office.

Fraud Investigation Former Stanton, CA Officer Gets One Year

A former Stanton police officer working as an unlicensed private investigator was convicted last week of fraud and sentenced to four years in prison.

The sentence pronounced last Thursday in Central Justice Center in Santa Ana on Kevin Michael Sianez, 56, of Fountain Valley was stayed and he was ordered to serve one year in the Orange County Jail and make monthly restitution payments of $5000 until he fulfills the total losses of over $187,000 due his clients.

http://liarcatchers.com/fraud_investigation.html

Sianez, who also worked previously for the Santa Ana Police Department, pleaded guilty to 17 felony counts of grand theft by false pretense, 11 felony counts of fraudulently using an access card, four felony counts of possession of a firearm by a felony (stemming from a 1988 conviction for stalking), six felony counts of obtaining services through false representation and one felony count each of perjury by declaration, computer access and fraud and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.

He also pleaded guilty to three related misdemeanors.

Sianez was accused of working as a “private eye” without a license through KMS Investigations from November 2005 and June 2010, as well as Fore-Front and 4Front Investigations.

Authorities claim that Sianez led people to believe he had a nationwide organization when he in reality worked out of a small suite in Santa Ana with fewer than five employees, who were primarily family members.

He was further accused of defrauding his customers by doing “little or no work on their cases after payment,” according to the district attorney’s office.

Sianez worked for the Santa Ana and now-defunct Stanton Police Department from 1979 to 1986.

Identity Theft Ring Foiled in San Jose, CA

San Jose police Wednesday announced the arrest of three suspects in what aiding U.S. Secret Service officers dubbed as the most extensive and inclusive identity theft operations in the San Jose area in years.

San Jose residents Toan Nguyen, 35, Mai Huang, 33, and Kent Do, 27, were all arrested at a home in the 300 block of Elan Village, a residence that police say was turned into a sophisticated identity theft operation that included equipment and supplies to create fraudulent driver’s licenses, credit cards, counterfeit money and imitation checks.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

All three suspects are being held on $5 million bail in the Santa Clara County Jail and face various charges related to identity theft, grand theft, fraud and counterfeiting.

Police are still searching for two outstanding persons of interest in the case. Thach Duong, 39, and Tri Nguyen, 44, are being sought for questioning, according to police.

A search warrant on the home was issued after a yearlong investigation led by the Police Department’s Financial Crimes Unit Detective Brian Pettis, according to police.

The investigation was prompted an elder fraud case in which an 85-year-old San Jose man was bilked of nearly $100,000 when his personal checkbook was stolen from his home during a burglary. Police allege that one of the suspects used the checkbook and began a scheme using other victims’ identities to drain the man’s bank accounts.

On May 1, the department’s Mobile Emergency Response Group and Equipment, or MERGE unit, served the search warrant at the Elan Village home and allegedly caught two of the three suspects in the act of committing online identity theft.

Police said that further search resulted in the seizure of uncovered weapons, narcotics and the identity theft equipment that police report was capable of stealing the life savings of hundreds of victims and defrauding financial institutions as well. The additional victims’ information appeared to have been acquired by burglary, mail or other means, police said.

“Detective Pettis’ investigation not only solved a burglary, where an 85-year-old was victimized, but it also potentially prevented other burglaries and hundreds of identity thefts,” Deputy Chief Phan Ngo said. “I am so proud of not only their exceptional work but also of their commitment to service to our residents.”

Police are still attempting to contact the two persons of interest in the case. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two outstanding persons are asked to contact Detective Brian Pettis at (408) 277-4521 or the Silicon Valley Crimestoppers at (408) 947-7867.

Missing Person Search Continues for Lana Bailey in Kansas

Late in the afternoon of May 9, 2013 a suspect was arrested in the murders of Kaylie Bailey, Andrew Stout and Steven White — but missing baby Lana Bailey remains missing. Fox News 4 out of Kan. reports that the infant is presumed dead and the man believed responsible for all four killings is 27-year-old Kyle Flack. There is an apparent motive in the slayings, but officials are not revealing it.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Friends of the suspect reveal that he had lived on the farm where the bodies of Bailey, Stout and White were discovered, but he was kicked out by Stout’s father. Is it possible that the motive of the killings was fueled somehow by being kicked off the farm where his alleged victims resided?

Steven White’s mother revealed that drugs could be involved in the slayings and kidnapping of the missing infant. She also believes that more than one person is involved. Authorities in the area are still seeking leads and investigating, so if there are more suspects then it’s only a matter of time before they’re found. But what about the missing baby?

Kyle Flack has a long criminal history that involves attempted murder — for which he only served barely half of his five year sentence. Someone who once knew him told sources that he is schizophrenic and hears voices. She said:

“He was very out of control. It’s like if you look at somebody, you can tell either you got feelings or you don’t. And he was kind of a shell.”

The Ottawa Herald reports that the FBI is involved in the search for missing baby Lana. Aerial searches took place throughout Thursday, as well as searches on horseback and with dogs. Officials will not reveal why they believe she is dead or if Kyle Flack made any kind of confession — nor have they revealed any potential cause of death. Until her body is found this information may not be made public.

Pedophile Tracking Woman Who Claims Pastor Raped Her Comes Forward

A woman who says a southern Kentucky preacher raped her as a child went public Wednesday.

In 2011, a Wayne County grand jury indicted Gerald Dishman on 13 counts of raping a child. Since then, he’s bonded out of jail and continued his ministry as pastor of Denny Hollow Jesus Name Church.

“Becky” says Dishman raped her from the time she was 3-years-old until she was 15. She says Dishman also raped her sister. “Becky” says she hopes going public will speed up what has become a lengthy court process.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

“It’s been going on in court for two years, and we can’t get any answers. I mean, he’s out running free.”

Becky says she wants justice and can’t understand why anybody would continue going to Dishman’s church.

“I think it’s a disgrace. Anybody that would go to his church? It’s a disgrace, because he’s nothing but a hypocrite. Anybody who goes to his church, I think they’re hypocrites too.”

“Becky” says she believes other victims exist, and she hopes they will come forward.
