Fire officials say one child got out of the home safely and ran to her grandmother’s house for help while firefighters had to pull 54-year-old Jeffrey Brown, 59-year-old Nancy Brown and their other two children out of the home.

A family friend told LEX 18 on Monday that Jeffrey Brown was the kind of person who would give anyone the shirt off his back.

There is no word yet on what started the fire, but officials say there weren’t any working smoke detectors in the home.

Neither agency is commenting on the manner of deaths or if the deaths were suspicious.

Wrongful Death Man Acquitted of Murder Sues Police, Says He Was Framed

A man whose attorney says he was wrongly imprisoned for crimes he did not commit is suing police and sheriff’s deputies involved in the investigation.

William Anderson of Campbell County, TN, age 37, was acquitted of a murder charge. Monday he announced his intent to file a lawsuit against the Kentucky State Police and the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Anderson’s attorney, Elliot Slosar, claims that the investigating officers coerced witnesses, fabricated statements, falsified medical records, and destroyed evidence. They are releasing audio from Anderson’s interrogation in which an officer can be heard screaming obscenities at the plaintiff.

Anderson was incarcerated for almost five years.

This is the second federal lawsuit in as many months filed against the majority of the defendants in this case.

“Mr. Anderson was framed for a murder that he did not commit by officers from the Kentucky State Police and Knox County Sheriff’s Department, who fabricated evidence and coerced witnesses,” said Slosar. “It took nearly five years to unravel the police fraud in a case where Mr. Anderson should never have been arrested in the first place.”
