Police in Monroe County responded to a bomb threat at Tompkinsville Elementary School Thursday morning.
The call to State Police came at about 8:20 a.m. The caller advised that the bombs were set to detonate in 15 minutes from the time of the call. No detonation occurred. Additional bomb threats were called in to Sonic and McDonald’s Restaurants and to the local Walmart in Tompkinsville.

All businesses have been evacuated and school has been cancelled for the day. The public should recognize that there may be significant delays in regards to local traffic and are asked to avoid, if possible, the potential threat areas.
Troopers and detectives from Post 15 along with KSP K-9 Units are investigating.
