Private Investigator – Whats the difference between Slander and Libel?

Slander is The action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person’s reputation.

When the slander takes place in writing it is called libel (such as a newspaper runs a false story) and that can be easier to prove in court so long as you can show that the writer knew or should have known what was being said is false.
