VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Saturday at approximately 6pm, Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a dead body discovered off a gravel roadway approximately one mile north of SR 42 along the Vigo/Clay County line.
Deputies said a local fisherman driving home for the evening saw the body, our sister station WTHI reports.3

They said the deceased appears to be a Caucasian female between 20-40 years of age, with brown shoulder length ‘corn-row’ styled hair. She was also wearing black colored pants and dark colored shoes.
Detectives estimated that the body had been there for no more than a few days. The cause of death is undetermined and an autopsy is pending.
Chief Deputy Clark Cottom stated that detectives immediately began searching local and statewide missing person reports.
Police are asking for the public’s help with any information concerning the discovery of the deceased female, or any information concerning missing females in West Central Indiana.
