A grand jury has handed down an indictment in the case of the shooting death of Hickman mayor Charles Murphy.
Tommy Lattus, 30, was indicted on murder and first-degree burglary charges. The 30-year-old has also been found competent to stand trial in Murphy’s death.

Police say Lattus shot Murphy in January, and told officers God’s tongue told him to do it.
At the time, Murphy was dating Lattus’ mother.
