Gregory and his wife were taking a Caribbean cruise on the Holland America cruise ship Eurodam. They were traveling from St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands to the Bahamas when he went missing, reports the Seattle Times.

The ship turned around to search for him, but they were not able to find him. The U.S. Coast Guard using a ship and a plane also searched. The search was centered about 85 miles northwest of Puerto Rico, said Coast Guard spokesman Ricardo Castrodad. The U.S. Coast Guard believes that Rappe went overboard in that area.

Sarah Tessier Powell, 70, from Louisiana disappeared from the Holland America Line Veendam cruise ship in October 2012, as it sailed from Quebec City to Charlottetown. Halifax police speculated that Sara “may have walked off the ship without being checked by the cruise ship security,” CBC reported. Sarah was traveling alone and was last seen on-board Sunday, Oct. 30, and not present on Thursday morning, Sept. 4 in Halifax. She is still missing and no definite explanation for her disappearance has been established.
