Police have released names and more details in the investigation of a fatal Christmas night shooting in Knott County.
Police say two men showed up at Ricky Sweet’s home at the Jamestown Village Trailer Park in the Talcum community around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and asked to borrow gas. Sweet got some gasoline from an outbuilding, and when he returned, one of the two men pulled a gun and demanded money. Sweet and the armed man exchanged gunfire.

Sweet, 61, suffered multiple gunshot wounds. EMS took him to Hazard ARH, and he was later transported to UK Hospital for treatment. Officials did not release any information on his condition.
Police say Aaron Pratt, 45, of Pinetop, was shot and killed.
Investigators say they have not identified the third man at the scene. Police continue to investigate.
