ALBANY, Ore. — The former owner and operator of a martial arts studio in Albany was arrested last Friday on allegations of sexual abuse and child pornography, police said.
James Butler, 57, was accused of abusing a child inside the Academy of Fighting Arts, at 115 SE 2nd Avenue, according to Sergeant Steve Dorn of the Albany Police Department.
“This investigation began in December 2012 when the victim, now an adult, reported the abuse,” Dorn said. “The victim disclosed the abuse to a family member who assisted the victim in reporting the crime.”

Butler owned the business, which specialized in teaching martial arts to children, from the mid-1980s until 2000.
