Police are investigating a shooting in Lexington that sent a man to UK Hospital.
Authorities are calling it a drug deal gone bad. It involved juveniles, including a 16 year-old who police said was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital by his friends. It all took place on Thames drive around 7:30 Wednesday evening. Police said the details are still sketchy, but they do know the victim and his friends were in a car on Thames Drive prior to the shooting.
They believe the perpetrator climbed in the car to get out of the pouring rain fro a drug deal, at which point a fight broke out escalating into the street, where the teen was shot. At this time police aren’t sure who the perpetrator is, but said he fled on foot.
