A Kentucky mother is making serious accusations against a U.S. Army cadet training officer and the U.S. Army Cadet Corp.
In a recently filed lawsuit, a Pendleton County mother says her teenage son was repeatedly sexually abused by one of his cadet officers over a 3-year-period and her daughter sexually abused by a fellow cadet. Now, she’s suing the U.S. Army Cadet corp for negligence.
The alleged abuse happened at the cadet training center in Millersburg in Bourbon County between 2010 and 2012 during a summer camp program. The lawsuit, filed in Bourbon County, alleges the training officer threatened her son with punishment if he refused molestation. The boy’s mother believes Army Cadet Corp management knew what was going on but refused to act.

“What we thought was going to be a great program to teach them self-discipline, respect, give them life skills, leadership skills, turned out to be a nightmare,” said the mother, Katrina Strange.
LEX 18 reached out to the training center and the U.S. Army Cadet Corp. The training center spokesperson says they can’t comment on pending litigation.
Strange also told LEX 18 they’re hoping that the accused officer will be indicted by a grand jury later this month.
