Lexington Police are continuing to search for a suspect, Wendell Dixon, in connection to a weekend shooting on Versailles Road.
On Friday at 6:27 p.m. officers responded to an assault with a weapon at Swahili Elk’s Lodge. Upon arrival officers located a female victim who had been shot multiple times. According to witnesses the suspect, Wendell Dixon, 50, shot the victim after a verbal altercation in the bar. Following the shooting, Dixon fled the area in white, Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Investigators are actively searching for Dixon. He is considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public who see Dixon should not approach him, but rather call 911 immediately.
