Missing Person Cornelius Hall of Gordon, GA

Gordon police intensified their search for a man who has been missing for more than 11 days.

The city’s police chief said he is using every resource he has to find 48-year-old Cornelius Hall.

Hall has been missing since Sept. 16, from Falcon Crest Manor. It is an assisted living facility in Gordon.

Hall is a diabetic on insulin and is blind in his right eye.

“He has a mental disability,” said Gordon Police Chief, Mike Hall. “He’s been diagnosed with Paranoid schizophrenia. Some of the family members also said that he does have other mental issues.”

Police say the Milledgeville man signed himself out of the healthcare home.

He was last seen wearing a white shirt with a grey pull over sweater, faded blue jeans and brown boots.

More than 40 people came out Friday to search for Hall. They broke into teams searching Pine Street, Kennington Road, Harbinson Walker Road and Milledgeville Highway. They searched in woods, and abandon houses.

“What we did is when we got the call, we came out and as soon as we could,” said Wilkinson County Emergency Management Director, Gary Brown. “We put people on four wheelers and they ran quick routes of the known location where the person usually travel.”

Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) has joined in the search for Hall. GEMA’s Georgia Body Recovery Team brought in their Cadaver dog to aid in the search.

“We try to work in to the wind,” said Tracey Knighton of GEMA. “He’ll pick-up, he’s trained to pick-up a particular scent and when he finds that scent, he has an indication. He’ll run towards it.”

According to the police chief Hall is the first person that has gone missing since his 26 years on the Gordon Police Force.

Anyone with information on where Hall can be found is asked to call the Gordon Police at 478-682-2323.
