A vehicle struck and killed an elderly pedestrian in Bath County Sunday evening.
Police say Ray Ellis, 74, was trying to cross Slate Avenue in Owingsville when a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old hit him. The impact threw Ellis into the Windshield. He then fell to the pavement when the vehicle stopped. Officials say he suffered severe head trauma.

EMS took Ellis to Saint Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling. He was later transferred to UK Hospital and pronounced dead.
Police say they haven’t filed any charges against the teen driver, but the investigation remains open.
