Three people are dead in Meade County, including the son of a Sheriff’s Deputy, after a double murder-suicide.
13-year-old Tucker Wimpee, his mother Ellen Cain, and her boyfriend Earle Trippe, were found dead inside Trippe’s home on Otter View Court Friday morning.
State Police say Trippe killed Tucker, and then Ellen when she tried to intervene. And finally, himself.
A former neighbor, Stacy Pike, says she knew little about Earle or Ellen. But Tucker, she says, was a regular at her home. She calls him an honor student who idolized his father, Meade County deputy and high school resource officer, Phillip Wimpee.

“He wanted to be like his dad, running and chasing the kids. They had a jail out back and everything,” she said. “[This is] selfish… to take someone’s life because of your own mess?”
Court records show a 7-year-standing order for Tripp to keep away when his girlfriend and her ex were exchanging custody of their children.
