Wrongful Death Lexington Murder Victim Knew Attacker

A Knox County man with an extensive criminal record is now facing his most serious charges yet.

Lexington Police arrested Henry Stacy Thursday night charging him with last Friday’s murder of a navy veteran.

“The victim had been stabbed multiple times and we knew there was a suspect out there,” said Sharelle Roberts with Lexington Police.

Using witnesses in the neighborhood who reported seeing a suspicious man, police released a composite sketch of the suspect. Thursday night, they arrested 40-year-old Henry Stacy.

Authorities say Tom Rogers knew Stacy, though, they wouldn’t be more specific. LEX 18 also learned law enforcement across the Commonwealth knew the accused. He’s what they call a career criminal.

Before his arrest Thursday night, a warrant says Stacy took his truck and had it crushed at a salvage yard. He also allegedly sold some of the jewelry and a gun he’d stolen from Tom Rogers and bought drugs.

Though Henry denied any involvement in Roger’s murder to police, he allegedly told a friend he went in to rob the place, but ended up killing a man.

One of Roger’s daughters wrote this on her Facebook page, not long after word of an arrest: “The police in Lexington made an arrest last evening. While it does nothing to ease the pain, it will hopefully ease Susanne’s fears while in their home. Thank you again to everyone for all of your love, prayers and support in this unbearably difficult time.”

Tom Rogers was buried Wednesday.
