Police arrested a woman after they found her children asleep in a room with drugs and a man dead from an overdose in Madison County.
Police responded to a home on Dixie Plaza around 8:30 a.m. Friday after a report of an unresponsive 24-year-old male. Police say officers arrived and found a man on the bedroom floor not breathing and without a pulse. They were not able to revive the man.
Police say their investigation revealed the man took several different drugs overnight and determined he might have died from an overdose.

Kristen Johnson, 22, of Franklin, Ohio, was also present. Police say she told them she was the man’s girlfriend. Officers say they found crack cocaine in plain view on a bedside table, along with drug paraphernalia. Police say they also found a glass pipe in Johnson’s purse, and a syringe containing liquid residue in her boot.
Johnson’s 4-year-old and 6-year-old children were asleep in the bedroom with the drugs and the dead body.
Police arrested Johnson and charged her with possession of a controlled substance, wanton endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
