A 12-year-old autistic boy reported missing was killed after being hit by a truck while walking on an overpass Saturday night in southwest Houston, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, a 12-year-old autistic boy left his home, and his parents called police once they realized he was gone.
Around 8 p.m., the boy was walking along the northbound lanes of the South Post Oak overpass near South Main Street and was hit by a black pickup, police said.

The 12-year-old died at the scene of the accident, police said.
Police said the driver of the pickup was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge, but has not been said whether he will face charges related to the boy’s death.
