Private Detective Louisville Police Arrest Man Accused of Putting Camera in Restroom

Louisville police arrested a man they say admitted to placing a camera in a bike shop restroom.

Detectives say an employee at the Bardstown Road Bicycle Shop noticed the camera near the lower portion of a vanity cabinet in the restroom. Police say Stephen Wood, 48, admitted he put the recorder in the bathroom periodically over a period of two or three weeks. Police say he told them he did it to videotape people’s private parts.

An employee described the bathroom as unisex and primarily for employees, but said customers also used it. Police say they are still trying to determine how many victims exist. Investigators say the camera was very tiny, measuring about an inch in length.

Police charged Wood with video voyeurism.
