Wrongful Death Carroll County Woman Charged in Connection to Son’s Murder

A Carrol County woman has been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of her two-year-old son.

Amanda Foster, 28, of Ghent was arrested at her home Tuesday on charges of criminal abuse first degree and transfer of a controlled substance to a minor in connection to her son’s death in February.

Foster’s boyfriend and the child’s father, Douglas Allen, has already been arrested and charged with murder in the death of the boy, who investigators say, had high levels of Oxycodone in his system at the time of his death.

Foster called 911 at 6:43 a.m. on the morning of Feb. 19 telling dispatchers the child had been discovered dead in his bed. A toxicology report showed high levels of Oxycodone in his system.

After talking to Allen, detectives believe he gave his son a Schedule II narcotic on the night of Feb. 18, which led to the child’s death.

Allen was arrested at the Kentucky State Police post in Campbellsburg that same day. He was later charged with murder.

Both Allen and Foster are being held at the Carroll County Detention Center.
