The arrest of North was the result of an investigation after numerous tailgates were stolen from pickup truck in the county.

According to officials, North had allegedly been to several car lots trying to sell tailgates.

After being identified as a suspect, North attempted to make restitution to a victim of a tailgate theft.

Rednour allegedly wrote a check to a victim for restitution, however that check had insufficient funds in the account.

North is charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000 and Rednour is charged with theft by deception – cold checks under $500.

Detectives are attempting to locate some of the stolen tailgates, which they believe were sold in another county nearby.
