A Duluth sex offender who fled the state after police seized electronics containing child pornography is now awaiting sentencing on two charges.
Duluth Police say David Charles Workman, 51, pleaded guilty to Possession of Child Pornography by a Predatory Offender and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender last week. He is in the St. Louis County Jail awaiting sentencing.

The investigation by the Lake Superior Forensic Technology and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began after the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigated suspicious images uploaded to Google. The BCA investigation alleged that the images were uploaded from computers at Workman’s Duluth residence.
Officers located Workman using computers at the Duluth Public Library on Jan. 9 and executed a search warrant to seize his personal computer and cell phones. Police say suspected child pornography was located on several of the seized items.
Jim Hansen, a spokesperson for Duluth police, said no pornographic images were uploaded from a library computer Workman had been using, but said Workman was allegedly posting questionable material that violated library policy and was banned from the library.
The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Workman in Kentucky after Duluth police found he had fled the state. Workman is required to register as a sex offender but failed to do so when he moved.
Workman was convicted of sexual assault of a child in Colorado in 1981 and 1985.
