Lexington police continue to investigate a Friday morning shooting.
Police say they got a shots fired call in the area of Fifth Street around 4:30 a.m. Around 5:25, police say UK Hospital called saying two gunshot victims showed up at the emergency room. A woman suffered a gunshot wound to the hand, and a man took a bullet to the leg.

Police say the victims told them the incident happened in the area of Fifth and Chestnut. They say they “had words” with a person or group of people in a vehicle and somebody opened fired.
Officers say the victims weren’t very forthcoming with details about the incident.
Police investigated the scene and found at least one shell casing.
