An accident that left one Marion County woman dead Friday afternoon is still under investigation.
Kentucky State Police say that Elizabeth Pittman, 36, was traveling east on US 68 just inside the west side city limits of Lebanon when she attempted to pass another east bound vehicle, but because of oncoming traffic was unable to pass. Pittman then lost control of her vehicle, fell off the eastbound should and when she returned to the roadway, struck a Semi in the rear of the trailer.

The operator of the Semi was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. Pittman was also wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner.
The roadway was closed for several hours as investigators reconstructed the collision.
