Temple Terrace Police say the body found near Clearwater’s Courtney Campbell Causeway is ‘likely’ that of missing 9-year-old Felecia Nicole Williams.
The Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office has the body.
Police spokesman Michael Dunn says investigators cannot confirm it is the girl until an autopsy is completed Sunday.
He did not know when that would take place.
Officers and other law enforcement agencies and family went door-to-door Saturday looking for the child.

She went missing Friday from the Doral Oaks Apartments on Tanglewood Place. She was wearing a black and green striped shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a missing child alert for Williams, describing her as 4-foot-5 inches tall and 100 pounds.
Officers, Hillsborough Sheriff’s deputies, Tampa Police officers and crews with the Temple Terrace Fire Department canvassed the neighborhood, used a helicopter and searched a golf course and the nearby Hillsborough River.
The girl’s mother in Ybor City was contacted. Her sisters, cousins and grandmother aided in the search.
“Something ain’t right. I think my baby still alive. I just pray that she is,” said grandmother Brenda Johnson.
The child’s nickname is Sugarplum.
Police say a godmother picked up the girl from her Tampa home Friday afternoon and took her to the Doral Oaks apartment.
Police say they questioned the godmother.
After the godmother took a shower at the apartment, she discovered Williams was missing, and called police.
The girl’s older sister says it all just doesn’t make sense.
“She would never, never, never leave, never never wander off. She didn’t have a reason to. She goes to friends’ houses, but that’s about it. She comes back. She would never leave someplace that’s not familiar,” said sister Shakelia Givens.
Anyone with information about Felecia Williams or this incident should contact the Temple Terrace Police Department at (813) 989-7110 or call 911.
